Hammarby wrote a small notice on their website yesterday that University of North Carolina goalkeeper Scott Goodwin will come and train with them for a few days. His college profile. A whole bunch of american college players came over to train with swedish clubs starting around this time last year so maybe they're doing a repeat? This is only the second one so far though, with the first one being Ian Christianson. As always they point out that this is training and not a normal trial since the player will be returning back home to finish his college studies in the fall.
The official Hammarby website report that Goodwin is training with the club again this week. They point out though that it's only training and that he will leave after this week. Goodwin is apparently in Europe searching for a club to sign with and needed some training to keep sharp.
Apparently, he snuck a season in Iceland by us, at 2nd tier IF Hottur- Now back stateside with Carolina Railhawks- http://www.goheels.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=3350&ATCLID=209392940
IF Hottur played in the 2. deild (literally 2nd division), but that is the 3rd tier. I hate countries with misleading league names.
According to Wikipedia, Hottur was in the 2012 1. deild karla but was relegated and played in the 2013 2. deild karla (and was relegated again). The video you posted appears to be 2013 highlights. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_2._deild_karla
