Hey, I am not sure this is the right place for this but I am going to be creating a college soccer club team in Florida. Does anyone know of any club team tournaments, etc. and where I can look for them? Thanks.
Maybe this list will get you started: http://www.nirsa.org/Content/NavigationMenu/Sports/Soccer/SoccerLeagues/Soccer_Leagues.htm If you scroll down, you'll find a Men's Florida League. Looks like UF, FSU, UCF, USF, and Sante Fe CC all have teams. Good luck.
There will also be a club tournament hosted by Clemson April 17-19 this year. Each year there are whats called region tournaments and the top two teams (i think) go on to the national tournament. Good luck w/ your club!!!
i have a question. wouldnt college soccer be better off having an all year round tournament and playing every weekend? ncaa would never adapt fifa rules? just wondering.
I'm a little confused by your question AguiluchoMerengue. . . .what this guy is asking about is college club soccer which is governed by nirsa not the ncaa. . . the ncaa governs all college varsity sports including soccer. . . therefore college CLUB soccer does not have the same regulations as varsity ncaa soccer does and the tournament in clemson is only for college club soccer teams. . . the ncaa has conference tournaments with the winners of certain conference tourneys going to the ncaa championship tournament along with other teams who recieve at large bids because of their record on the season. . . . i'm not sure if this is what you wanted
well i know that a lot of universities have a club and the club is almost like a "jv." i also know that some small schools are starting to play in pdl bc of their short season. my question is. wouldnt be easier for ncaa to change their rules to fifa rules and to have a year season long playing every weekend? is it possible to do that? just wondering.
probably not soccer doesn't make money the way football or basketball does and a year long season is pretty ridiculous for any sport when we're talking about student-athletes
