    I don't think he's a blue-chipper like gio & pulisic, but he's top tier of the rest.

As far as if he'll go back down or out on loan, it depends how quickly players return from injury and his play in the interim. This was the 1st game I thought he looked like he belonged. Too late, or not good enough, remains to be seen, & likely influenced by availability.

Good enough to put him in the senior squad and actually get playing time.

I would expect him to spend most of his time with the first team. It looks like they are priming him for an eventual start and then a 90-minute run out. That will be how they determine how much time is spent with the 1s. They'll look at his sustained focus and impact. It will be up to Cole to make contributions.

I don't see anything so far that says he cannot be a regular contributor. The guy has some serious skill and soccer IQ.

Yes but I think he needed the minutes after not playing in the senior game.

Agreed. He has much less chances for Bundesliga minutes if he's not game fit.

To be honest, its not that bad to continue in 3. Liga till at least the Winter break. Specifically, i want to see him moved to CAM w/ reserves & develop the cerebral side of his game. He showed flashes w/ 19's that he can playmake too. If he is in tighter spaces, he has to think faster, & depend less on his physical gifts. A couple times over the past few months, he had an opportunity to make a quick incisive pass into goal for a teammate, but he chose to work the wing and take on 2 or 3 players.

That's going to take time and hopefully, he gets playing time in a first team by next season.

Reuss landed at LA Galaxy recently. He has such a great skill in that rf role he always played. He makes it look so easy. LA host Seattle this Saturday - Reuss is worth the watch either as starter or coming in for the 2nd half. I had to sit thru a couple of years of dougie costa in that position and it was just awful football. Tks heavens he was injured most of the time.

"I started training with the first team a few times last year," Campbell recalls, "and, to be honest, Marco Reus was just amazing. His touch on the ball and everything, there were so many little things that he did. He's just an amazing player, and that made me like, 'Wow, OK'. I remember we were playing four against four, and he told me to just run. There were three players standing there, and I was like, 'How's he going to get me the ball?' He put it through all of their legs. That's crazy.

"When I was younger and coming up, you see the quality and what is expected. Every pass has to be perfect, every touch, everything

There's one 's' in Reus. I saw him play against Hertha Berlin last year and against Dynamo last month - class player.

Really? Looks like he played the first half of the U19 game earlier as well. Strange. Kabar also played the first half and is on the bench here.

He's been one of my favorites since when Klopp was his coach. I maybe somehow pulling for the Gals against my will because of him.

While Marco Reus prepares for MLS Cup, Campbell started for the reserves today and got an assist in a 2-2 draw. Played 72 minutes.

    12/7/24 vs Wiesbaden:

18 Year-Old Cole Campbell vs Wehen Wiesbaden

Cole was showing his ability to be dynamic. Dribbling bursts to the byline, combination play, shifty dribbling in tight spaces, incisive passing to a teammate in on goal.

    12/14/24 vs Stuttgart II:

18 Year-Old Cole Campbell vs Stuttgart II

Cole trying an unexpected through ball through several defenders that almost goes through. Great to see that attempt. Though, he was not as successful in this game & that breakaway attempt will draw some ire (had to show conviction in that moment).

He is almost there. If he does not play regularly with Dortmund 1st team for the second half, I think he should go on-loan till the end of the season.

Supposedly there's EPL interest for James, who plays rw at Leeds. If he is sold in Jan, the 49'ers should look at Cole as a replacement/future prospect. When I watch the above clips of Cole's "all touches" in various games in lower German division, I think of how his game would expand significantly playing with Aaronson at Leeds if James leaves. Cole is just grinding his gears down in lower division German football at this stage besides picking up bad habits and getting fat from boredom.

Of course, I think it's hard to leave Dortmund if they want to keep him and in the back of my mind I think I heard something about his parents being with him in Dortmund (?)
