Was a 2-5 win, actually. Yeah, Bassett came on at 84' and there were 4' of stoppage time so he got some good minutes. Slot had him replace Quinten Timber, who was the box-to-box midfielder this match.

Aursnes started but is likely headed to Benfica next week. Bassett will get minutes this season with the Feyenoord first team; there is no doubt about that. Pedersen playing left back, normally a right back, could have fed Cole with a through ball but played it back instead. Hopefully Lopez is more aware once he starts in that position.

Slot obviously rates Cole so I doubt that he will go out on loan.

Much appreciated and good to hear. I have always liked this kid, and Richie.
I know they have something real to offer at this level.
Love watching Dutch footie with Yanks involved.
After watching quite a bit of the wild west Juliper League over the last few years I have come to appreciate the Eredivise even more.

Scored and went 90' in a closed-door friendly:

Feyenoord played a closed practice match with FC Dordrecht on Tuesday afternoon. The team from Rotterdam was 5-0 too strong for the formation from the Kitchen Champion Division in their own Kuip.

At Feyenoord, only players came into action on Tuesday who had not been in the starting lineup in Sunday's Eredivisie match against Vitesse. Cole Bassett opened the score early against the guests from Dordrecht.

    Line-up Feyenoord
Marciano; Benita, Valk (81. Green), Van der Zeeuw, Hartman (59. Kleijn); Toornstra, Bassett, Dermane (46. Hearts); Jahanbakhsh (81. Balde), Naujoks, Taabouni.

That's a good move for everybody. Colorado wants to get paid and Feyenoord won't do that without seeing him more. Feyenoord needs him to get minutes to make sure buying him is the right move. Colorado wants to get paid so he needs the loan to either encourage Feyenoord to pony up or someone else. Everybody wins assuming he's a starter there.

And the same day it was also reported that Feyenoord are looking closely at bringing in Ezequiel Bullaude from Godoy Cruz of the Argentine league. Bullaude is only 21 but an excellent prospect and his sell on price could be much higher than Feyenoord's purchase price. I have seen him play several times (Paramount+ carries Argentine league) and as a starter in a top league he has gotten significant minutes, scoring 6 goals in 25 matches. He would definitely compete with Bassett as a backup to Szymanski.

While I am glad to see Bassett getting a chance to start in the Eredivisie, I was really hoping he could stick with the Feyenoord first team this season.

So based on what I'm reading the Feyenoord loan is canceled HOWEVER they retain the option to buy Cole.

Essentially if loan goes well Feyenoord likely buys Cole

1-1 when he came on and then they lost 4-1. Anybody have any idea how he played. Having 3 goals scored against your team once you come on doesn't sound great.

  21. He was rated with a 5.5 out of 10 for his minutes played by Voetbal International
