I won’t say the Riverhounds have a done deal with Dave Brandt, the highly successful coach at Navy, but I will say it’s close. And if you click his name, you’ll see it’s cause for excitement.

On what level this news makes sense to you? Tell me one reason why Brandt would leave Annapolis to come and toy with the Hounds?

Surely so, Kutney is mixing the Kool-Aid here, but you don't have to drink it. Wake up man and hope your club survives another owner change . . .

My cousin who graduated from CP last year and his brother who quit the team in June because he didn't get along with Holocher and didn't want to play for him another year told me this last night in regards to Sampson....

When Holocher left, Sampson was contacted by the players who wanted him to coach them, but he declined saying that he felt he was too close to Paul (as his former coach and friend) and he declined the job. He also has a good thing going with Global Soccer, so I don't think CP could pay him enough to move. This was back in August , so I don't know if anything could have changed. Anything is possible, I guess.

Kutney has denied the whole thing. It's independent reporters who are writing the reports. Yeah I'll give you he's a spinster sometimes, but when the Washington Post comes out of no where with a story about a USL PRO team that frankly they shouldn't even care about, there must be some weight behind it.

It makes plenty of sense. Maybe Brandt is a guy who wants to move to the next level like he did from Messiah to Navy. Maybe he likes a challenge. Maybe he enjoyed transforming a down program into a strong one like he did with Navy, and maybe he wants to do it again. Maybe the Hounds are going to throw a crazy amount of money at him, or are giving him the keys to run a professional team however he wants. I don't know. Just because you apparently don't like the Hounds and think it's a bad move doesn't mean it's the most fantastical idea ever.

Maybe he went to Goff with the Hounds offer because he wants to parlay it into a better one somewhere else.

The Washington Post needs to write about something or people would not want to read it. I believe that is how newspaper business works . . .

The club filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy not long ago, so I don't really see where the "crazy amount of money" is coming from, and who in his conscious mind would want to coach there by leaving a well paying and prestigious college job?

And Tuffy's attempt to pull the club through these difficult days are not for anyone of your blue eyes, but because his son is in the academy and daddy has enough money to call the shot.

Don't you think if Brandt wants to coach on the professional rank then he should look a little higher? A-League perhaps or a steady USL Pro outfit? Perhaps he is eying the PITT job . . . o_O . . . :whistling::whistling::whistling:

Yea, you do write with an accent. he he...

Hey, this whole deal can be as easy as Brandt wants to coach his son. Period. Of course that is only possible if there is something going on with the Pitt job behind the scenes.

    This makes sense.

Any other reason why he would leave the Navy job for the Riverhounds doesn't.

A-League would be tough considering it hasn't existed in 10 years.

By special authorization of the forum's Grand Council (after a 10 hour deliberation web call), I am the only one allowed to type with an accent! (You have never heard my light garlic flavor Froglish accent by the way). :p
And even without audio capabilities I can prove that I deserve this hardly fought right: ēėèéëûùûôöòàîï.

An ACC outfit with a state of the art facility is hard to turn down . . .

The Pitt athletic director has decided to give Joe just another 10 years to get things on track.

    After that, no more chances!

Don't know if Brandt is interested in coaching (obedience training?) the Riverhounds, but he can take a shot at playing for the team if he has a spare $125 ... http://www.riverhounds.com/home/849861.html

Real rye grass is state of the art for soccer ... Artificial turf is not.

Wow! Was that part of the 2010 project? They better reconvene and name it the 2024 Panther Gold Project.

What is the "rye grass"? I've never heard of that one before.
