3rd Degree's intrepid writer Viking has landed an interview with Coach Jeffries. Read it at 3rd Degree. http://www.3rddegree.net/
Great Interview. Well done. Two telling things I take from it: "2. If you could have a “do over” anywhere this year, what would it be? ...In hindsight, the decision how to handle the Open Cup scheduling turned out poorly. 4. Which statement do you think is closer to your viewpoint: a) we are just a player or two from winning it all; or b) a few good breaks instead of bad breaks and we’ll win MLS Cup? ...I believe we can still be a better team and the statement that we are a player or two away from winning it all more accurately reflects my thoughts." Point 2 - He gambled for it all and lost. I can live with that I suppose - if he had pulled it off he would have been a hero. Point 4 - I guess / hope we get a coupl emore impact players. The first place I see a need is at forward. We need 2 consistent goal-scoring threats. When one hits a cold streak, the other is there to take up the slack. Course, every team would like that. Again, great job. Very good reading.
Good interview Viking! It gives an insightful view of Jeffries the coach. He's a little more human now.
