So Ol' Yassar's finally popped his clogs, eh? Good riddance. Now if only Sharon would have the decency to follow him to Hell...

Joe, Israel has elections for that. No need for Ariel to die.

In the immortal words of Chris Rock.......(except Arafat replaces H. Clinton)

Everyone's been callin Arafat a hero
    Yasser Arafat is no hero,
    Aquaman is a hero.

Politician Sharon can go to hell, General Sharon goes to heaven.

Sharon came to power via a military coup and not an election? Wow, I did not know that. Regardless, his timely death would ensure that he doesn't keep coming back like, oh, Chucky or something.

Every Palestinian should be asking, "Where's the money?"

Thats the most pathetic thing i heard!!!
A military coup? Were u born just yesterday?

Former Prime Minister, Ehud Barak went and resigned. Eventhough he resigned he still had a seat in the labour head and took Sharon head to head. In 2001, after a almost tie, Ehud lost and Sharon won. The latest election was in 2003 when Labour got a no body just like John Kerry to lead and they had like 20%....

And no word on the mystery illness that killed the beast. Perhaps there's something to those HIV rumors? :p

You’re right, the Palestinians are an enlightened people. It wouldn’t matter to them if their iconic leader had been playing hide the salami with his bodyguards.

[obligatory_seinfeld_reference]Not that there’s anything wrong with that. [/obligatory_seinfeld_reference]

    His mystique would be gone.
People don't know where things are headed after his death, but if he is shamed by having been HIV+ in that society...

I wonder how many people here are familiar with the term "cult of personality?"

I sure would hate being the keyboard of some of the posters on this thread.

By some of the reactions you'd think the posters were having a live web show from Jenna Jameson.

Well, I guess we are always supposed to say something nice about the person who died, but what nice thing can you say about a thug, thief, murderer and terrorist? He is gone, and hopefully things will change in the Middle East.
