Columbus Stars I'm interested to see if any of you have actually caught a game of theirs yet. I'm interested to see if Gary Berry actually has skill, and if the local boy O'Rourke (who is supposedly a stud in defense) is future MLS material... Maybe we can sticky this thread if there's enough info/interest on our own PDL team... Maybe they'll go A-League someday, that would be interesting..would we be the only city with both MLS/A-League?
i understand they play at 4:00 tomorrow at Crew Stadium and it's like $5 extra to get in and see that game before the big boys. that would be a good time for everyone to check them out.
Yeah, I'd like someone to check out Justin Cook if they can, as well. He played for OSU, yeah? And whats stopping anyone from going in for $5 bucks and staying for the second game
Chris- I haven't been to a game yet (only had 1 home one, I think), but I graduated from Kilbourne with Danny O'Rourke, and have seen him play twice with IU so far. In high school, he pretty much did it all, but he's really developed into a helluva defensive midfielder at IU. He was starting there as a freshman, that ought to tell you something. He was on his way to another big time season this year, but went out about 1/2 through with a nasty injury to his face (broken cheek bone, among other things, if I recall). I'm anxious to see him with the Stars though this summer.
Talk about redundant statements. If you need a Crew ticket to enter in the first place, then just put list the price at $3 for the PDL game. So actually it is only $3 more to see the Stars. Sounds like a good deal.
Hope someone goes, in these minor leagues teams may last less than 2 years and never reappear. I'd love to see this team be the gap between OSU/top college talent...and the A-League/MLS. Wasn't Faria "discovered" on a PDL team?
They probably play at one of the area high schools. If I had to guess I'd say one of the Sylvania schools, Ottawa Hills or Maumee.
