Anyone else out there getting them? We talked to Ted Firestone today with the Quakes. Many sections were sold out. Most front row seats were already claimed be noon today.
I'm totally jealous! I love living here in the Pacific NorthWet, but there are times that I really, really miss Silly Valley. GO QUAKES!!! - Mark
We are going to try to get them. Our meeting (call) is this afternoon. If we can't get good seats, we will probably nix the idea and get the best regular seats.
Our date isn't until July 23. At this point, it sounds as though there isn't going to be much of anything left by then. I think I'll go sit with the Ultras.
Sucks that our brand new stadium only has expensive suites and a little more than 500 club seats. Guess we'll all have to watch on TV.
I have two in f3... F12/13 were full and I want to be as close to midfield as possible. I'm having buyers remorse right now... Cost and I'm concerned with the sight lines (I've got seats 1 and 2... As close to midfield as possible in section f3)
So it sounds as though a lot of the good seats are no longer available? Any recent buyers have a sense of what percent have been sold? fadedtoblack, I am old, tired, and blind, and watching the game through binoculars doesn't work for me. I'd take the barcalounger option if they offered it!
The old Earthquakes organization had a solution for that, they let the people that were buying season tickets physically go into Spartan stadium and select their seats so they would have no doubt about the sightlines.
Yea... I assume they will if they need to... when it's built. I'm guess most of the "good" seats will go sight unseen however.
FYI, I just signed my agreement and there is some verbiage that may indicate when they think the stadium will be complete: "...beginning January 1, 2014 and ending on December 31, 2016, with an option to purchase the Tickets for Years 4 and 5 at the Year 3 Ticket price." "...Agreement with 25% of the Year 1 balance due by March 1, 2013 and the remainder of the Year 1 balance due August 1, 2013."
It definitely looks more like Home Opening Day 2014 rather than mid-late 2013. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
It doesn't seem to work very well for clubs to move mid-season. Too much shuffling, or stacking the season in favor of road games for a few months...which means that the team may be out of gas by the time it gets to the grand opening. From everything I'm observing, there are no plans to open before 2014.
Hey SoccerMan, I'm your neighbor in F3, and had the same thinking about midfield and similar concerns. Do you have anything concrete to support the concern about the sight lines? Thanks!
Probably for the best. I'd rather open a season with a bang in a new stadium than transition late in the year.
can't we just play at Buck Shaw for the first half of the season, then move into our new stadium after the all-star game 2013. or is that a bad idea?
You may get different opinions on whether it is a bad idea or not, but, Kaval has already stated that the team could start the year at Buck Shaw and then move to the new stadium if completed sometime during the season.
It won't be finished by then at this point. If they're not breaking ground until the late fall then there's no way it is ready during 2013.
