Club Quake is happy to announce that they will be hosting a viewing party this week at the downtown Britannia Arms - 173 W. Santa Clara, San Jose. There was a good turnout for the last viewing party as approximately 25 Quake fans made the trek on a rainy afternoon to watch Ching and company turn the Revolution into pasty cream of wheat. Game on at 5:30 pm vs. the Chicago Fire. Bring your scarves, your attitude, your appetite, and above all, your Club Quake membership card. Because at the Britannia Arms, they don't take losing in stride, and they don't give 20% discounts to non-members. http://www.clubquake.org/
Sorry but I won't be there, I don't care for the location. Santa Clara st. is crawling with cops on a saturday night just waiting for people driving under the influence to leave the bars so they can bust them. Not to mention the fact that the parking is murder on the weekend evenings. I wouldn't mind the Almaden location(actually i do) but downtown San Jose on Saturday is out of the question. I guess I'll have to try to set something up at the Cupertino Brit for those of us farthest away from SJ.
Well, I'll be there. I've never had a problem with parking. There's a huge garage that's free parking on the weekends. We'll be outta there by 8 at the latest. I haven't noticed that many cops around at that time of night. And you shouldn't drink and drive anyway. And I like the downtown Brit. Good atmosphere for the games. It was fun last time. Even though I broke my car. Can't wait for the game! See y'all there!
I won't make it, but do you know if the Brit will be getting the game via the Shootout package? If not, the Fox Sports Net telecast is tape-delayed at 7 pm.
They do have the shootout. So I'm sure that's where they'll get it. Someone remember to get that remote and hide it from the bartender!
Dude, you never heard of the free parking garage around the corner???? I've never had a problem with the cops, but San Jose's finest do have a reputation.
Right inside San Pedro square. Across from the lot you parked in for the last game. It's like three or four floors. Just across from Tide House and the Spaghetti Factory.
Frick! Stupid DirecTV! They're tape-delaying by 2 hours, even though the schedule said 5:30. Oh man, egg on my face
Please tell me that they were able to watch the game at 5:30 pm. I'm going to switch to something else instead of DirecTV. They suck.
I was being lazy and decided that it would be more fun to watch the game in bed with my nice warm blankey and the sun on me. Thank goodness DISH had the game at 5.30 or I woulda missed the sun! So.... I have no idea if the Brit got it on time. But I'm sure it worked out.
I was at the downtown Brit, for the live broadcast, but it didn't come on. They have the Direct TV shootout package, and the guy there said that they sometimes blackout the shootout broadcast, when it is tape delayed on FoxBA. He did put on both the Colorado-Columbus and DCU-Metros on two of the TV's, but I left at 6 so I could get home in time to catch the FBA on my TV. Wasn 't interested enough in the two games that were on, and also didn't want to hang out for another hour there waiting for the FBA tape delay to come on.
