    Hi everyone,

this is for Club Quake members and potential members. I didn't see a Club Quake-specific thread but if there is one, I will merge this in there.

We have some leftover food and soda from last week's season opener, so there will be *some* food available at the tailgate. Not enough for everybody! If you want to be guaranteed to eat something cooked on the grill, it is best to B.Y.O. (Bring Your Own for those of you not yet up on tailgate lingo.)

I believe there is lots of soda so you probably don't need to worry about B.Y.O. for that.

Finally, the good news -- we have once again hooked up with Brew4U, and they will be providing two kegs to the tailgate. These are the 5-gallon kegs, not the 13-gallon kegs like we had last week, but hey, beer. Same beers as last week -- Silicon Blonde and whatever the Amber was called.

So this is the incentive for all of you to sign up for Club Quake! Join the club, get beer at the tailgate!

That is all. See you on Saturday!

Coincidentally, this Saturday is not just The Californian Derby Day but also ... My Birthday!

So, when you, guys, are tired of drinking beer - the cake will be ready.

By the way, the design of this cake is very special...
    ;)

Remember to check your friendly Club Quake web site for all this and more:

    http://www.clubquake.org/

If you would like to join Club Quake, send email to membership@clubquake.org or go to http://www.clubquake.org/membership.php

A reminder that this week will feature Troy "Cowboy" Dayak. Many of us will meet at the tailgate at 6pm before heading to the north end to form the rally tunnel, where we line up on the field and welcome the Quakes.

Thanks for the heads up Bill. I'll be bringing some of my stella artois as I have to make room in the fridge. Also, I'm thinking lager instead of ale for the match, as it's going to be cold. I'll bring something for the grill as well:D

It all sounds great, as always. Granted, we do love our beer but I should mention that we will bring a cooler-full of soft drinks that were left last week as well. If you have kids or non-drinking, designated driver-types in tow, we'll have the PG-13 cooler, as well.

    Go Quakes!!!

This is going to be great. I can't wait.

Spartacus, mr. membership should be there. If he's not there when you have to leave, I'll be happy to take your money )

Well, someone can take your money.

Will they be handing out membership cards that day? I heard they were giving them out last tailgate but I wasn't able to make it. Hopefully, we can drop by. :)

What do you think is going to be the attendance for this game?

I got your buns covered, Tom.

Er, um, that's not what I meant to say. I'll bring some extra buns.

There are some attendance predictions over in the pregame thread next door. Mostly in the 15-17K range.

Hey, aren't you the guy who posts all those predictions of really lousy attendance over the MLS News & Analysis section?

Actually, my MLS attendance's prediction are very good for the most part. Thanks for your input.

It doesn't seem like much of a "prediction" if he's just going from thread to thread looking for numbers...

    Galaxy fans....what can you do?

Hey everyone! Just a couple quick questions. I guess I should look at your clubquake website, but I want some personal opinions...What are the benefits of being a member, and is it worth it? Y'all seem like fun, crazy people. My mom got me a season ticket for my 21st birthday, but only one ticket. We don't have enough money for 2...I need to make some new college-age Quake friends! All of my friends are away at school, and no one else really even knows who the Earthquakes are. Well, some feedback would be nice. Thanks! Can't wait for the game tomorrow. The Galaxy's "winning streak" will soon be over! Dunni rocks! And no rain:)

Since nobody else has chimed in...

Why don't you stop by today's tailgate and meet some of the members? Troy Dayak is scheduled to drop by (a little before 5, I think).

There's usually some food and drink (beer for the oldsters, soda for the under 21's) and lots of good times.

We'll probably have some Galaxy fans there too. It's located by the east entrance to Spartan, in the 10th street lot.

Club Quake is a first class fan organization. We have members from every walk of life and we enjoy getting together and talking about our favorite subject....the Quakes! If you swing by you will meet a friendly and spirited crowd of folks.

Other than the obvious social event, there are some other cool benefits as well. The player visit is great and gives you a chance to chat one on one. I also like the discount merchandise and the inside scoop on what is going on in the Quake's organization.

All are welcome, except Galaxy Fans! :)

I also love that we routinely get visits/chats with Johnny Moore. JM is very gracious in giving us part of his very busy day. I also appreciate that Johnny is very straightforward in his answers to your questions. Speaking with the GM personally beats any newsletter or "insider" column you could ever read.

Club Quakes really is big league!!
