Members have already been notified of this meeting but anyone interested in joining the Club should attend.

The annual meeting will be on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the downtown Britannia Arms. Free hot dogs and burgers will be provided. Alexi Lalas, the new GM and President of the Earthquakes, has agreed to attend and share his thoughts and answer questions. For more information please go to www.clubquake.org

We will have some cool new shirts available for purchase, as well. (Do you BELIEVE that?)

This will be a critical year for the team so we really need everyone's support. Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated.

    I'll be there!

(I am not Alexi Lalas, though - so there will be AT LEAST two Alexis there!)

These annual meetings are a great way to get an audience with the GM, and I've had lots of fun at them.

I won't be able to attend this year's, unfortunately, but they're a total blast.

Anybody know if the Brit will be showing the U.S. v. Haiti game afterwards?

    Woo hoo!

There's a thread here about that game. Guy is trying to see if there's interest in seeing it, especially since we'll be there anyway.

    I'll be there!

Wow! One could go to the CQ meeting, maybe watch the US-Haiti game and then do the Club Quake volunteering for the KTEH fund drive. A fulfilling day in San Jose.

Indeed. Still workiing on seeing if the Brit will carry the match. Don't see why the wouldn't, unless they can't for some reason.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again at the CQ meeting. I'm running for the Community Outreach Chair, and if elected, I hope to start working right away by hanging out and picking your brains a bit during the US/Haiti game!

    GOOOOOOOOOOO Quakes!

Yes they will, but only inside the pub. Patio will be taken over by a private party after our meeting.

I think I stand a pretty good chance of winning but we still need people to vote on the Community Outreach position. Please choose wisely as I think it is one area we could really improve from last year.

So, did Bolshoy Krasniy (referring to his volosi, not to any political affiliations) show up? If so, what info did he impart to the faithful?

An interesting discussion was being held over on the sanjosemls list. Most of the posters there were not particularly impressed with Alexi's performance at the meeting. :( I'm certain there will be more about this later.

OMG! Absolutely! Everyone should go read that, including GM Lalas.

So here's the question I take away from alot of that: Who do we direct our efforts towards? One of the questions that was asked was sorta of this, in regards to the stadium. And the answer was always "it's AEGs decision." Okay, so then why the fish are we not addressing AEG? Seriously folks. Why aren't we writing to them?

Oh yes, and one more thing.

I'm sick and tired of hearing about all the crap this club has been through. The diehards know it all. We don't need to relive it. The non-fan doesn't give a crap. And it certainly does not paint a good picture of the club for them.

Now, of course that is important in identifying the problems the club faces and why they are problems to begin with. But I think we can all agree that now is the critical time when we need a GM who has a vision and knows how to take this club forward. A GM who comes out and says, "Yes I know what this club has been through and I know what we need to move forward."

So.... After that meeting, I'm not so sure that's what we have at this time.

You all got me started again....

    Chandu,
Thanks for posting the signup addresses for the sanjosemls list.
Before BigSoccer came around, that was the main meeting place for the exchange of ideas about the Quakes, and, as in this instance, it can still produce some serious interaction.
