What is your first and greatest love? Your club team or your country?

We ought to re-run this poll in December or so - with 'country' way ahead it would be interesting to wee if the World Cup influenced the votes.

Country. I love my club, but my country is people that were born in my land, and play for pride and honor, not just people that came for money (although they do get paid well).

Country, though I might have answered differently after the U.S. vs. Czech Republic game:)

Seriously, I can see both points of view and suspect -- as someone else noted -- asking this question during the World Cup will influence some responses.

Which makes it quite strange at the moment. At work I'm one of the few who has a regular interest in the football season, yet now I'm largely, if not completely, indifferent to the event. Yet people who show little interest are avidly watching it.

I'd much rather be back on the terraces watching Halifax. Roll on the new season.

I love the NT,but I'm not as emotionally involved as with my club. This is easy, since club football play on a regular basis.

I'm the same way. Sure, I've got over 80 MNT and nearly 20 WNT "caps" as a fan/media, but the national team stuff is more party, and the World Cup comes but once every four years.

I live and die on a weekly basis with the Wizards.

    Country.

I expect most Americans will answer the same. Our European friends, especially the English, will probably answer the opposite.

    Country, but it's close.

[result]And maybe the Galaxy's dreadful performance last night had something to do with my vote[/result]

Club. As much as I love my NT, they've never made me sob uncontrollably, as my club has.

Country, definitely. In fact, in most ways, the USMNT is my club team. Also, I'm one of those fans whose routing interest in European club matches are driven by the number of Yanks on the team. Go Fulham & Reading!

I was already into my 20s when MLS started. No tradition there.

I went to the Revs game last night after watching US-Italy and I barely noticed anything that went on on the field, my head was spinning with second round scenarios. Who did they play? DC?

    Country.
