Wrong. Not the time to start the circus back up. You talked about next year being one to approach with a siege mentality. That's something that must be built from the ground up. Don't need distractions during this period. Like it or not, Totti at Roma is a distraction, especially with the shite media running to him for comment after every poor result. Maybe down the line when the team is up and running and established. Now, Fook off.
Totti and De Rossi involved helps create the siege mentality. Alongside Mourinho that is an epic lineup to give identity back to the club. It's pretty clear Totti wasnt the issue in the last regime. That was the 50 other snakes that Jimmy has employed.
People base their negative opinions on Totti off a lot of assumptions such as the java one he was always on holiday. Inmgnoring the fact his suggestions were overlooked and he didn't like being given a fake role. He had the courage to walk away because things weren't right.
I'm not judging this solely on that one experience or even him alone. It's the Totti dynamic at the club and in the city. Most of it is not even his fault. Being Totti, I imagine is not only a blessing but also a curse. He's a deity there and it could likely be a problem at some point. This team needs to find their identity and place. They must be free to do this without the distraction of the king of Rome lording over things. The mob will always side with him, right or wrong, for eternity. Can't have that right now. We need them to love this Roma without conditions, without distractions, while they grow and find themselves. Once they are established then yes, perhaps that could be an idea worth exploring. Too much at stake. They've just brought in the biggest coaching personality possible in Mourinho. Let him take the jabs and daggers from the media for now, without them also running to Totti for comment.
I think you're over thinking the negatives that Totti might bring. For example what he would say to the media after a game. He's not going to go shitting on someone like Jose. Guys like Totti and De Rossi around the club bring a huge feel good factor to the club and to the squad. You have players who want to do even better when they have those 3 names looking down on them. It reinforces the aura around what Jose could bring. They know Rome and they know what the team needs in terms of player personal which can in turn allow Jose to work even better. The clubs on the right path all the same.
We are solely missing Totti’s scouting and charisma. Remember he personally scouted Ziyech and wanted to buy him over Pastore
Thats what Im saying. He knows football, he can see talent no matter the jokes about his brains off the pitch. His charisma alone is huge for the feel good for the whole project. We had a similar discussion about the De Rossi departure. It wasn't about playing time, it was about what he brings around the squad and club day to day. Players look up to legends. Jose is huge for this club anyway but to add 2 champions beside him could be the makings of something incredible. It would certainly be a bold statement from Dan and a big easy win from a fan pov after the previous owner.

I don’t speak Italian, and know even less about the inner workings of Roman politics. From the little research I did, Roberto Gualtueri looks to be the front runner for mayor. I found this article below, and was wondering what your guys opinion is on him, and wether this is just pandering or if there’s more substance to these words. https://tribuna.com/it/news/asroma-...-gualtieri-confessa-la-sua-fede-e-parla-del-/

Dan Friedkin has done more in a year, than Pallotta's entire tenure. The process of coach hiring itself was a huge difference itself. Getting a winner like Mourinho is what this club needed.
