A possible 4 team tourny in LA... that would be cool
Well, I know that ManUtd is making a tour of the US during 2003 pre-season. There is a press release on their website (www.manutd.com). They'll be playing... Celtic in Seattle America in LA Juventus in NYC Barcelona in Philadelphia I don't know if the other teams will all be playing each other or not.
Yeah... we had that posted in the Mexican board, but due to the crash.. a bunch of stuff got erased. I have actually known about the America-ManU game for over a year now. Club America's president spent a couple weeks with ManU's president last year. They were discussing marketing projects, youth develpment, player treatment, and possible games against one another. Both are sponsored by Nike and I guees Nike wants to have those 4 teams play a Tournament in LA.
Club America, Manchester Utd, Celtic, & Barcelona in LA? know that Man. United are going to play all those teams, But the others are going to play between them? Is this some kind of tournament? if that the case, which is a better tournament. The one above, or this: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26665
Tickets Does anyone know when the America vs Man. U. tickets go on sale? I hope the powers that be do not charge us too much. Also if the mini-tournament thing goes through I will be ecstatic.
Club Americavs Manchester United @ LA Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA Sun, Jul 27, 2003 2:00pm Who here is going? Where abouts are you sitting? Price paid for tickets? Will you cheer for Club America? ----------------- I will try and purchase tickets today. I will definitely be cheering for my step brother Club America!
I'm planning on going and will probably get my tix by the end of this week. I saw that tix are $25-85 and I figure I'll get the best seats available. I don't have particularly have an allegiance to them, but yes, I'll be an Americanista for the day. ricv56

Can't make it But I'll be watching the game at a famous irish pub here in Chicago's North Side. It's going to be packed with Man U supporters, but this *************** is going to be wearing his Club America jersey with pride.

Buena suerte. I will be at the stadium. I am thinking of making a sign which reads: "Americanista por el dia!", or something to that effect.

Que nos pasa? Just got back home from the Azteca del Norte. I am disappointed but not so much by the scoreline of America 1 - 3 Man United. I must say that I can handle the euro-snobs who have probably never stepped foot on English soil and are no where to be found at a Galaxy match; what really got to me was that hardly any Mexican futbol fans showed up for the match. I was surrounded by a sea of red clad euro snobs. Then to make matters worse I saw some of the raza wearing their Man U. gear. Que nos pasa?
Re: Que nos pasa? The first part is no surprise. It's the only live match they will attend till another EPL team shows up. It's so easy to be a fan by remote control, talking "shite" at a pub, dissing the domestic league, when they bother to mention it at all. Same situation here in NYC; same in all the major cities, I suppose. The second part comes as a big surprise. I figured at least two-thirds of the 57k had to be Mexican fans. On TV it was hard to judge the support based on crowd noise -- at least for me. Maybe a lot of fans headed to Azteca for the Copa Oro Final?
