"There is no secret why I didn't (start) him last night (against Turkey), I wanted to make sure he was ready for this game," Arena said on Friday. "I think this is the kind of game that Clint wants to play in and I wanted to make sure he was going to be fresh enough to respond to this game and the confidence I have in him."

It will be interesting to see how he reacts after only a day of rest.

Bush- "You have black people in your country too?"

Clint will be fine. He only played 30 minutes yesterday. I expect a golazo or two vs. "Brazil".

You know, I don't care if Bruce wants to start another forward ahead of Clint, but to start Kirovski was pure idiocy. Jovan is done. Super-Clint could have played 3 games in 5 days, no problem.

Here's hoping he does well, even though it's not the same to play somewhat tired defenders (Turkey) than players who are just as fresh as he will be (even if we are talking of Brazil's defense here)

I am really cheering for Clint to score a goal or two or three in this one - the USA was below average against Turkey and if we want to have any hope of advancing we need a draw at the LEAST against Brazil - the #1 country in the world. And we still have to play a great Cameroon side - what concerns me most is that it really will make the USA's success at WC '02 seem like a fluke or a once in a lifetime thing. Best of luck to mathis and Howard(assuming he starts) against Brasilia!!!!!!!

I couldn't believe that Bruce had Kirovski starting against Turkey! Definately not my first choice, even if I were to rest Clint. When Clint finally came in we got our first shot on goal. We started looking somewhat dangerous up there. Stewart made a difference as well. I'll be bar-hopping today to try to find someone that shows the game up here. I too hope that we win a few.... I'm tired of the rest of the world not taking us seriously. I'll catch the Metro's on my VCR right after.
