As I'm sure some of you know Clint Baumstark is with the Galaxy. He was signed by MLS as an emergency GK that can be shipped around to whichever team needs help. He has already been with Dallas & DC. Anybody seen him at training? I'd love to know how he is doing.

I saw Clint's name at today's event but he wasn't there at the table. I was wondering who that was.

Clint was with the Rapids for a couple weeks last month. We had 2 backup keepers available so I don't know why he was there. He's from Thornton, CO (suburb of Denver) so maybe that had something to do with it. My brother knows him pretty well so he was going see what he could find out but now he's with you guys.

He signed some special "emergency" contract with MLS a month or two ago and gave up his last year or two of college eligibility. He's already been on roster with DC and Dallas in addition to LA. He certainly has an odd arrangement.

    is GONE
sounds like a GOOD arrangement to me. he gets to be a jet-setter, traveling to different cities. he can call himself a pro without actually having to play. he at least gets SOME pay. and maybe he'll actually play on of these days. sounds like a good deal to me.

sounds like a crummy deal to me. who wants to willy-nilly travel around, get paid peanuts, never play, get screamed at by a new coach every week, and not know any of your teammates that you're supposedly playing with.

i hope it was worth it for the guy...either in the short run OR the long run.

I think he did it to try to gain more experience to try to rise higher than 3rd string for the u-20 world cup.

    I'll second that.
