Well, I would have preferred Seattle or Philadelphia, but if Cleveland has an I/O who can get a SSS done by 2005 or whenever, the more power to them.

    Good luck Cleveland! and Congratulations!!

Excellent! But do they have an actual new SSS lined up? Or are they going to play where the Browns play? What it called--Cleveland Stadium, Dawg Pound, Mistake by the Lake??

It would create an instant in-state rivalry!

congrats to cleveland and welcome to MLS...will be interested to see which stadium deal gets done:

    > the one in the city near jacob's field partially fiananced by the city.

    > the one out of the city all financed by the I/O

i am hoping they get the one in the city but since i don't know about the specifics of either deal i have not a clue which one is more realistic.

Not bad for a league that less than two years ago was described here by many as being "on its deathbed."

It will be great when it's official. Another team, another investor, another stadium, very nice.

Unoffical congratulations Cleveland. Can't wait until it's official.

Amazing stuff lately for MLS (Chivas, Adu...and now this...)

Wonder where all those "ah, MLS will never go to Cleveland folks" are going to hide...there were an awful lot of them, ya know.....

Obviously, too, its irrelevant if one nails their exhibition game numbers.......

Great news, now on to more pressing issues.

There are four "blue teams" and three "red teams" in MLS. Can we PLEASE have the Cleveland team follow the NFL team and be orange? :)

And they'll have "Commitment to Excellence" painted on the walls of the stadium.

Given that they may not win many matches at first, another sign would probably read:

    'JUST WIN, MAYBE'

And what if Bert Wolstein started wearing a white jogging suit to everything, as if it were the only thing he had in his closet?

Or maybe he was filmed saying, "Freddy Adu must go down and he must go down HARD."

    Dude, I am so stoked.

If there's any justice in the world, they will be the cleveland stokers, and my dude I am so stoked banner will be displayed every home match.
