Scoreless at halftime but it seems like UVa has had the better of play.

    Shots - 9-3, UVa
    On-goal - 2-1, UVa
    Corners - 3-0, UVa
    Offsides - 1-1
    Fouls - 16-9, Clemson

When you're outshot 3-1 and commiting almost twice as many fouls, it's not a good sign. Of course, when you're outplaying a team like that and haven't gone ahead, that's not a good sign either.

Man, this just gets more and more absurd.

Clemson failed to convert their first three PKs and lost the shootout 3-1.

    Final in PKs
    Virginia 3
    Clemson 1

Clemson's first three players missed their PKs. souders, holden, and gibson. clemson is eliminated, and virginia will face wake forest. clemson will have to hope on monday for a tournament bid ... but it doesnt look good.

UVA wins 1-0 (3-1 on PKs).
I don't see Clemson having to worry about practice any more this season.

The word on the street is that this UVA win will put them into the NCAA's. A .500 record won't be needed.

At 8-10-1? (Assuming they lose on Friday)

The result only counts as a draw, not a win. The penalties are only a method to break the tie due to it being elimination play. I'd really like to see the NCAA justify a team with that record getting in.

Well, word on the street is wrong. UVA needs to win the conference tournament to get in. However, if they lose Friday, don't be surprised if they play a match over the weekend in C-Ville.

i understand that hill played attacking mid and vide played right mid for the entire 110 mins. i heard both had impressive games and that burke was not only sensational during pk's, but also during the 110 mins.

is vide making a comeback in bgg's graces? can anyone give a report on how uva's midfield played?
