This is the roster and strategy that Winning Eleven 7/Pro Evolution Soccer 3 gives for the 'Classic Netherlands' team.

The question I pose to the people that best know, is what is the best possible line-up strategy given the team I have given.

The selection choices of WE7/PES3 are invariably flawed, I'm not looking for a debate on the game in general or the choices they made. I'm just looking for the most intelligent and/or creative stratgies to use in my own home game. I can program limitless things into the game. The positioning is free and I can assign up to two directions for each player to push towards. I can also assign line defense/sweeper/normal defensive tactics. I can also choose low/med/high defensive intensities for each player. I can answer questions on players attributes as shown by the game on a ask/tell basis. Basically use your best judgement of player's real life performance rather than what the game says.

Have Fun. I'm really interested what people can come up with. :)

    Go ahead and have fun.

I think Cruyff is on the bench for liscensing reasons. If you look at the roster for classic Brasil, Pele is benched as well.

I love the addition of classic teams. Its so interesting mixing players of today and yesterday. I'll post my WE7 master team later on..

from what i have heard the stats for those players in WE arent very accurate, on some dutch forum i heard resenbrink is the best dutch winger ever but has the same or worse stats than overmars and vd meyde

anyway from what i remember this is how i play it just cuz im trying to get as many good players on the pitch at once

i know Ronald Koeman is in my back but i forget if RB or CB and i forget the rest of the Defense
    .........................Rijkaard
    Gullit..................Cruijff.............maybe resenbrink but i forget
    .............Neeskens....vBasten

    I missed these guys. :(
    Hulshoff 5 CB
    Israel 25 CB
    Krol 11 SB/SW

When I play with Holland I play 4-1-3-2
    Suurbier-----Rijkaard-----Krol-----V. Tiegeler

    -------------------R. Koeman

    Rensenbrink------------------------Neeskens
    --------------------Cruyff

    -------------Gullit
    ----------------------V. Basten

This team pretty much hammered my Classic German team 4-2. Rensenbrink was killer down the right flank, then cutting in and shooting.

I don't mix "classic" and current players on the game. I can vouch for Rensenbrink in the game, as he has toasted my defense on moe than one occasion.

On one occasion he had a shot blocked by a beautiful slide tackle from Beckenbauer and ther ball hopped up and rolled over. Rensenbrink jumped Becks and hammered a one-timer into the net on the hop. In the same game Neeskens had 3 assists.
