Since a couple of years it's obligatory to play indoors with a low-bounce ball (instead of a normal ball). Most shoe-manufacterers have some sort of "sala-shoe" especially designed to play with the low-bounce ball. The shoes are usually not made of leather, but nylon or some other fabric, and have some sort of "toe-bumber" at the front. Most professional players in Spain wear the Gresca-range by Munich, Joma's Top Flex or some other similar shoe. http://www.munichsports.com/footballindoor.htm http://www.joma-sport.com/Productos/Productos_Futbol2.htm I'm wearing Nova Mundials now (and have worn Copa Indoors or similar shoes for over 15 years), but I'm thinking of buying a pair of Joma Top Flex next. Which do you prefer: the classic indoor shoes or the sala shoes?
I have been a big fan of Adidas Top Sala II's since they came out. I got the blue ones (I wear a 13, so it was hard enough finding shoes that fit, period) and I was TOTALLY blown away with how great they are. I went back and bought another identical pair, and I wear one for soccer and one for street shoes. They were also very cheap, I think I paid 35 bucks a pair. If anyone knows where I can get the blue ones (from a few years ago I think) hook me up... I finally just retired one pair, and the other is on the way out after about 6 seasons of indoor football!
serv, how are the padding/cushioning in them? ive had problems with shoes like the sambas cuz their is no cushioning n my foot gets f'ed up.
Honestly, I've had them for so long and used them for so much (from my everyday workout routine to helping roof a friend's house) that I couldn't tell you how much padding they have when they're new, because it's been too long. However, let that be advice.. they're comfortable enough to run on a treadmill for an hour and not have sore feet afterwards, or stand on a ridiculously sloped roof for 14 hours (ok, my feet were sore then, but so was everything else!). I also played in several hard-court leagues with them, and never had shoe or foot problems. If you can find them, I'd say give em a shot. Their soccer playing properties are excellent, and they're definately cheap enough!
I've tried the Munich Gresca and wasn't impressed with them. In the first half of this weeks indoor match I wore my Nova Mundials, in the second half I wore the Munichs. The "feel" with the ball was about the same, but the cusioning at the forefoot was much less than the Nova Mundials. So after the match I had sore feet, which I usually never have with the Nova Mundials (well, at least not as much as this time...). I can't believe that that many pro's wear them...but maybe I just have to get used to them? Still looking for a new pair of Indoor shoes, but my Nova Mundials will do for now.
