While CC coming back was expected, I was surprised at the baseless statements and projections of GE. I hope, in the future, he communicates himself more clearly.
You might have to explain this. He was just posting his response to Viking's commentary. I don't think anything in his response to Viking or the Tobias interview was baseless. He pretty much said without degrading the players (which he might want to trade, etc), that some of the players they brought in stunk it up and that's why they missed the playoffs. Which is true, is it not? He said they need some one in the middle of the field. Which is also true, is it not? I can see the plan at FC Dallas and I can see hope. Which is more than I can say for the Cowboys. This bitterness to GE and CC seems a little over the top. If they tank it next year, I will lose my hope and I will join this GE and CC berating. But right now, I just can't get on GE for responding by email, the town hall meetings. And going out of their way for Buzz, and the Inferno.
What are you referring to? One quote? Greg Elliott: I completely agree with the first sentence. We will all have to wait and see on the perrenial MLS Cup contender. I see no reason why Clarke shouldn't be given another year and another chance to build on the improvement from 2004. I'm bummed we missed the playoffs - but I don't want to start all over just because of the priniciple of the thing.
The Ticket ticker mentioned Clarkes staying for 2005. Some FC Dallas exposure on the little sport Ticket.
Unless I'm misreading the DMN article today, Clarke was hired on just a one year contract and just signed another one year contract? It certainly explains Clarke's strategy and for me doesn't bode well for 2005.
They learned from the mess called Jeffries. Him signing a one year deal (probably with a minor raise) is good news for those of you who DO NOT want him to be coach. It means he can be fired in July, and all they have to pay off is 5 months salary, instead of a year and a half like the paid the mess called Jeffries. I actually like this since I knew he'd be coming back anyway. At least this way when Jefe says "Fire Clarke now" early next year, it might actually be an option.
