Don't like. At least Basel aren't running up the scoreboard like we did.

    Come on, Spartak!

  3. Second Half Luzhniki Stadium

    Spartak Moscow 0 - 2 Basle

    Juilio Rossi (18)
    Christian Gimenez (89)

I think we always knew we were going to have to go to Basle and win. Go Reds -- YNWA!

  5. Final score

    Luzhniki Stadium Attendance: 3,000

    Spartak Moscow 0 - 2 Basle

    Juilio Rossi (18)
    Christian Gimenez (89)

No surprise, I guess. It all comes down to next week.

Attendance: 3,000...!!! You can get that many in the toilet in the Kop. ( Nah, don't even think of it;) )

So Basle draw away with us and are the second team ever to win in Luzhniki and we have to beat them IN Basle. I hope the First Team enjoy their rest this weekend...

  8. Agreed. We did not get the result we needed at Anfield, and we therefore need to make up for it in Basel. It's up to the Reds.

And of course the result in Moscow last night means that we have already clinched third place in our group, which has implications for the UEFA Cup competition.

This truly is the test to see if we have what it takes. I'm nervously confident. :)

We should consider like a second leg match of the competition in its older format.

We only drew at home, so we need to win away. If we don't get the better of Basel over two legs we don't deserve to go through.

I think we can do it. It won't be easy, but it can be done.

I think we need an adventurous but not cavalier approach. Going for a goal early will calm the nerves. I would play Baros, Heskey and Owen and not play the long high ball but pass our way through them.

It will be interesting to see how they will approach the game. Will they play for a draw in front of their home fans? I think that actually plays to our advantage as it will allow us to come at them even more.

I just wish it was on tv here instead of frigging Ajax.

Right now, they're saying they are not going to sit back or play for a draw. Liverpool should see some chances, if the last match between the two portends anything.

My thoughts exactly. I think this is the best fixture on Tuesday. Anything to put on Spanish and Italian teams...
