Is there any guidelines for what they air each Matchday? I mean, three Real Madrid matches in a row? Real Madrid v. Roma I can understand--the galacticos, plus Totti and Cassano. But still, three in a row? We could have Juve v. Bayern this week or Barca v. Milan (which I see is scheduled for Matchday 4). Obviously, ESPN2 is going to schedule the big boys, with players accessable to the US market. Besides Beckham, the most obvious choice here is an EPL club. Yet no Manchester United, which we would all expect would be the default selection (not because of any quality reasons, just that they're what people that don't necessarily know soccer know about soccer), no Arsenal, no Chelsea... Any ideas?
As I understand it, they just pick up the live ESPN International feed, meaning the US market is a only a small factor in the decision-making process.
Also, Setanta Sport has the big games involving EPL teams and Celtic, probably at least until the quarters and maybe even the semis.
