What was obvious after 45 minutes is that there is little cohesion among the chosen starting side's players. No effective service from a midfield composed of Gini, C Jones and Milner. Tsimikas didn't look much like a capable stand-in for Robbo. The defense held up satisfactorily, but that owes a bit to Atalanta's mediocre finishing. Origi looks rusty. The bench has the better chance of scoring, with Jota and Firmino available.
Atalanta have some good fast skilled players, and look like they want revenge for the 5-0 game. Gomez is good but too old for us to make a move.
Theres only so far you can go with Young players before they start getting exposed in the back 4. January can't come soon enough. And Why Klopp didn't Start Minamino over Origi baffles me
Origi looks lost. Mini was praised by Klopp yesterday. He deffo should have started. Mind you I wouldn't rate any of our guys any better than OK. And some only scraped that level.
Very disappointing performance. Of the fringe players: R Williams - mistake on the second goal but otherwise looked solid N Williams - disappointing at both ends of the pitch Tsimkas - decent performance Origi - doesn't have the technical skills of our other forwards Minamino - surprised not to see him start
