Liverpool and Atalanta - this time at Anfield.

If we win this, we can rest players in the next two games and give the squad some rotation.

Going to be a tough lineup to figure out.

Tsmikas and Minamino should start. As should Salah.

    Do you bring in Neco?

I think Neco will start as well. I think the back 5 will be Alisson, Williams, Williams, Fabinho, and Tsmikas.

The midfield is impossible to predict because we don’t know who’s fit. If he knows he will have Hendo and Thiago for the weekend, he might ask Gini and Jones to go again. If not, he may need to give a rest to Gini.

Up front, I would like to see Salah and Minamino. Then give Mane and Jota 45 minutes each.

He could also do the halftime sub of Matip for Fabinho, but I’d rather Matip be kept out of the these midweek games all together.

I’m actually excited to see Tsmikas. He is a Michael Edwards signing so he will inevitably end up being a great player.

I'll be v surprised if he doesn't start tonight - Robbo must be close to the breakdown point.

Hard to say what Jurgen will do for this one .We're very thin at cb , down to three healthy mfer's and guys like Robbo and Mane could use a rest. Klopp has used a 442 in the cl already this season so given his player options maybe he'll set up that way again. Its a really difficult one to predict.

    Alli
    Neco R.Williams Fabinho Tsimikas
    Salah Jones Gini Jota
    Taki Origi

This game is all about the squad playing most of the minutes. I think your lineup is close, but midfield is totally up in the air. I think you rest Gini if you can considering the work load he put in during the internationals. At least limit him to 45. I'd expect Milner to start. If Hendo, Thiago and Trent are looking likely to be available at the weekend, perhaps you ask Gini to go 1 more time.

Taki and Origi play the 90, Salah probably can as well. Pick the fittest from Jota, Mane or Bobby to also start in a 4231.

What other academy midfielders do we have that are even close to being ready?

In an unprecedented show of faith in Michael Edwards, work has begun on the Kostas Tsimikas statue. The area it will stand in is already being swept clean in preparation. In order to allow for the many inscriptions of his (Kostas') accomplishments a decision has been taken to go with the Stanley-Cup-layer-cake-of inscriptions model so the base isn't blank for longer than necessary.

Yeah,, I wouldn't expect Gini to play a full 90 and I'd certainly expect Milner to come on at some stage too. I think with 5 subs Klopp will have more flexibility with minutes depending how the game is going.

I think the "definite starters" are:
    Ali - Neco - Rhys - Tsimi - Millie - Jones - Salah - Mini.

    The other 3 ... anyone's guess.

Clarkson was the one who made the bench against Leicester. I have no idea if Klopp thinks he is ready for a game at this level.

I would expect Fabinho to replace Matip at halftime. Also maybe Jota for Mane.

Hopefully, Sam. Options are so thin we're gonna see more injuries if we don't get some rotation.

Agree. More likely Minamino for Mane if things are going well.

A little surprised by the MF line up. Klopp is going harder for the win than I thought he would. But, as mentioned above, maybe he is confident Henderson and/or Thiago will be available at the weekend.
