Geez, I got to the shortest meeting in the world and miss all the action.

Just from what I've read it sounds like the offense as a whole is clicking, not just one or two players.

    84th min...

Frings' 1st corner headed behind by Vieira, the second by Gilberto. The third comes to Dede, whose shot was well wide.

    85th minute

Freddie finally gets a breather, replaced by our new d-mid Pascal "I'm not Gilles Grimandi" Cygan.

    85th minute.

Freddie Ljungberg makes way for Pascal Cygan's Arsenal debut. Standing ovation for the Swede.

Huh? I'm pretty sure he's already subbed in twice this season, both times in midfield.

You're right. Brain freeze. I'm trying to set up an appointment to go into contract on the new house while doing this.

    89th minute.

Heinrich crosses for Reina, and Vieira plays it out for a corner.

    Toure replaces Wiltord.

    Re: Freddy Song

It's the old Frankie Valli song, "You're just too good to be true."

In the UK they associate that song with Andy Williams, who had a big hit with it over there.

    90th minute

Toure sprints off down the left, and it takes 3 Germans to track him down.

    Fulltime.

Evanilson plays into the box, but Koller is called for the push at the whistle.

    Arsenal 2, Borussia Dortmund 0.

    Man of the Match

Freddie Ljunberg, man of the match in my opinion, didn't loose any of last year's form

Freddie Ljungberg is the Chris Carter of Arsenal... All he does is score goals.

Pires is great, DB10 is God, but Freddie is my favorite. Good work to spring him I must say as well.

I guess we're all glad that Le Boss started Freddie after all?

    Hey, that's Wiltord's description!

The other result couldn't have gone any better - love those scoreless draws. PSV apparently tried to kick Auxerre into submission - 23 fouls to 9.

Now comes the real test, next Wednesday... an away date in Eindhoven.

PSV played a chippy game tonight, conceding 23 fouls and 2 yellows.

Incidentally, Anders Frisk really let the boys play today. No cautions to Arsenal, and only one to the Germans, who lose for the first time this season.

    Great PBP!

    Even better result!

My wife will be quite happy that "Skunk," as she insists on calling Ljungberg, scored! Not that I'm unhappy, of course... However, she has a thing for certain Arsenal men (Ljungberg, Henry, and Pires...).

A wonderful start to the Champions League campaign! Now if the Gunners can just maintain some modicum of their domestic away form... :)

This seems like a perfectly reasonable time to make wild, outlandish statements:

The away game at PSV next week will determine our season. A victory there and it's going to be lights out for our opponents. Barring some freak injuries nobody is going to touch us in England this year. If we can get an away Euro victory, get Freddie back, then Pires...

It's time to start fearing Arsenal.

Of course, if we get thumped at PSV then doubts will creep in, we'll think, "Here we go again..." and then winning in England will seem like no big deal cause we just did it and we'll get lazy and lose a game and we're right back where we started.

Anyway, that's my no pause for rational thought post-game rant.
