This post was written yesterday, about 19 hours ago. And I quoted it for the irony value it has.

Group E is doable. With some work, we can finish 1st, let's not worry. Yet.

    Diarra vs Diarra =O!

Lyon is such a great team. If we can get at least a draw on matchday 1 against them, we would have really high chances of finishing first.

The fixtures are posted on the other thread, which we should be using instead of this one.

Call me overoptimistic or anything but for me we will finish first in our group without any trouble. Our squad this year is much better than last year and if Capello rotates his players intelligently then i think we can go all the way this year!

I think RMCF made out with an average to easier group. Please don't get me wrong LYON is very good, but Dynamo Kyiv is not going to win the group and neither is Steau. I can't wait to see how Diarra performs against his old club.

I know it's nuts but i hope Barca and Werder Bremen advance and Chelsea don't even make it out of the group phrase!

Sorry, my European side takes over some time. Damn, never get used to it. Wait until you see me deal with inches and gallons and stuff. Total disaster!

I cant believe bookies have real, ac, and man u ahead of lyon. Lyon have easily been the best or at least top 3 team in Europe over the last few years. It is a shame they haven't been to the final yet. I am not saying this to troll, I think they could beat Barca too.

    Earth: Europe : ??
I dont think so , they lost to Ac Milan last season and even they were knocked by you guys.

So we are third favorite ? where is Arsenal on that list ?

I agree that Lyon doesn't get enough respect, but with M. Diarra gone; I think they will sorely miss him in the midfield. They still should get lots of French silverware, but I still think they might reach the CL Finals.

Lyon: Beautiful :D. We take their midfield powerhouse then get an opportunity to let them realise what they are now going to miss at European level .. I call us to draw the first leg (Away) then emphatically win the second leg.

Steaua: UEFA Cup Semi Finalists, after being knocked out by Middlesborough by a late goal comeback .. they will lack the something to take it up a level. Madrid to win both legs.

Dynamo Kiev: I am quite weary of this team, we only played them a few years ago, and if I remember correctly, both games were scrappy and we only nipped one goal wins (Owen won us the away tie). I optimistically predict we will win both ties, but will probably win the home tie then draw the away.

    Predictions:

    Lyon-RM 1-2
    RM-Kiev 2-0
    Steua-RM 0-2
    RM-Steua 3-0
    RM-Lyon 2-1
    Kiev-RM 1-1

    We'll see. Hala Madrid!

I was in heaven seeing the make up of the group ! I am from Romania, so Real Madrid will come to my home town !! I get to see them play live. Lucky bastard that I am. It will be a little wierd, since I had a soft spot for Steaua (btw, it's spelled Steaua, not Steua or Steau, and it means Star) since I was a little kid, and I never expected such a match to ever take place, since they usually played in different Leagues ( UEFA Cup vs CL). It doesn't matter, I'll be there sporting my Robinho jersey !
Regarding the Romanian team, they had some luck to get in CL. If it wasn't for the fans, they wouldn't have much of a chance to beat Standard Liege. The team is plagued by injuries right now, they lack a good quality striker and a valuable keeper. If everything goes as it should, Real will win both legs, no problem.
Kiev won't be posing any threats this year. They lost their power some years ago.
The only difficult games will be with Lyon and I think each team will take one win.

Im expecting us to finish on top of our group.. im expecting a win home and away vs dinamo kyiv and steuea and a home win against lyon and an away draw atleast if not a win.. come on.. its time for us to step up and show them that real madrid will be back where they belong .. winning all the championships.. in style .. the atmosphere seems alot better.. all the players seem to like eachother now.. especially ruud, raul and cassano trio

    HALA MADRID !!
