Will anybody be following the game live today? If so, this thread is for the PBP. Makes more sense to have it here instead of in the team forums. (thanks for the suggestion, retnicf).

I think it's great news to see Costacurta playing.

I've got a good feeling about today, let's just hope it comes true.

Besides the one at uefa.com? That's sort of the definitive CL pbp site.

Sorry, I was just lazy... I found one at Juventus' site (in italian) and one at www.Soccernet.com (in english).

I'm all set for this to begin.

If you want audio, it'll probably be broadcast (in Italian, of course) at www.radio.rai.it (click on RADIO 1).

About a half hour till kickoff. Can't wait. Milan has thier full squad and I'm confident that they will play thier style regardless of the outcome. I question Lippi's choice of Montero at left back(if Uefa.com is right). I think Seedorf and Kaladze are too quick for him down the left flank and will cause Lippi to bring on Birindelli or drop Zambrotta back to left back. We'll see.

Uefa.com seems to indicate that Milan have had the run of play (22' min). Anyone actually watching care to comment?

AC Milan have been slightly better and Andriy Schevchenko has had a goal disallowed for offside. Edgar Davids has been excellent for Juve. Juventus have had chances and Trezeguet missed a great one soon after AC had a goal disallowed.

The Sheva goal was good damnit!

Similar to Carlos' goal against Juve. Sure the offside was there, but it was passive. Neither played had an affect on the strike.

Inzaghi had another great chance, heading the ball into the corner then Buffon put on a great save.

Overall its been a very nice game. Milan have definitely been the better side. Juve's midfield has been a bit disapointing, definitely missing Nedved.

Sorry i should clarify my last post.

If Carlos' goal was good, Shevas was.

I think passive offside should scrapped, its too confusing for everyone. BUT, under CURRENT rules, they two offside players were not interfering with play.

Please no nil-nil tie and then pks. I can see the news articles now. No matter how exciting the match actually was, it will be called more boring Italian Football.

    FORZA MILAN !

    :D

    Edited to add:
Although, unfortunately, a great example of the defensive Italian game as opposed to real football.

I only saw the last 60-70 minutes of the game, and from what I saw it was a boring 0-0 draw. 2 teams playing not to lose, sucking the life out of the game.

The big difference with the Milan goal was one of the offside players was directly in front of Buffon.. It was not even questionable... The Carlos one while I also believe was not a goal had some room to argue the passive rule.

On the game in general... as much as it pains me to say Milan actually played better on the day.. Juve without Nedved floundered... Lippi made none of the right moves and our Attack was pitiful...

Something was wrong with Davids.. (which became obviousl when he came off... did he take an injury into the game?)

Trez was horrendous... including his penalty... Step up our other fantastic center forward Zala and the same crap... Two forwards and two crap attempts at a penalty...
Ok this is not a whine but can someone clarify what the rule is on the goalkeepers? Dida was three steps off his line before Montero strcuk the ball.. I thought they could move laterally but not forward... yes I know everyone does it a little but on the Montero shot it was blatant (incidently it also means that Montero should have easily slotted the ball to the left since Dida was well commited)

All in all we were crap... I take no positives from the game and can only be left wondering what difference Nedved would have made... As Sheva slotted through the final nail my stomach turned as it did when Nedved got his yellow again Real...

Good luck to Milan (they certainly have more luck than us in the big Euro cup finals)

Juve now need to look at the glaring deficiencies in Attack.... Come to think of it the Defense is getting a little long in the tooth as well and in need of a freshen up.... A lot of work needs to be done offseason in the transfer market....

    My boy

    FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to sit through this one on matchtracker and won't get to see the game for a while, but I just wanted to say how happy I am for Shevchenko. After a rough season, he played best when it mattered most, and after hitting the winning PK, I'm contemplating framing my Milan jersey of his that I have :)

From all accounts, either side deserved victory today. Juve fans, at least you had the scudetto this year.

As happy as I am that Milan are Champions League winners, one has to conclude that Juve are nowhere near the same team without Nedved.

Just as i thought last year was a shame that Ballack didn't play against Real Madrid and thus might have done just enough to have the german team win the cup, so too do i think the czech was sorely missed.

    Anyhow....FORZA MILAN!!
