Milan pulls Deportivo for the quarters and, perhaps more importantly, avoids Arsenal and Real Madrid completely. If they can beat Depor, they'd meet Porto or Lyon in the semifinals. Not that any of these opponents are pushovers, but I think you have to say it was a(nother) fortuitous draw: All the pairings: Real-Monaco Chelsea-Arsenal Porto-Lyon Milan-Deportivo
Already you're establishing precedence by giving a cynical description for our quarter-final birth in preperation for when I'm(and others) are praising Milan next year on the boards.
Speaking of sensitive, you're full of it. It's a fortuitous draw, even Galliani and Ancelotti say so: Euro draw delights Milan http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/mar12g.html Just like you couldn't have asked for a better draw than Sparta in the last round. I've never suggested that Milan is only doing well because they're lucky. But luck is certainly part of the game, and Milan got the luck of the draw this morning. In recent days, I've posted the following thoughts - - that I hoped Milan would advance in the CL vs Sparta - that I don't think Juve has much hope to beat Milan on Sunday - that I hope Milan wouldn't be paired with Arsenal or Real Madrid before the final, so there would be a great final. But please, continue to practice selective interpretation of my posts any way you wish.
Milan had a good draw in the round of 16 against Sparta. But I wouldn't call getting Deportivo fortuitous. If they would have drawn Monaco or Lyon I would have called that fortuitous. But you should know Sue that Depotivo is no pushover. Now they did get a break in the semis, if they get that far, but it's all meaningless because the best team is gonna win the CL regardless of the draw.
Milan were the best team in the CL last year so the answer is yes. Who was better than Milan last year? Please remember, last year Milan beat Real, Bayern, Depor, Dortmund, Ajax, and Inter en route to the title. They clearly outshown everyone in europe last year.
