Espn, Espn Deportes, Espn International, Espn Dos, Tsn, Tln, Rfo, And Setanta. Does Anybody Know Of Any Other Broadcasting Channels That Televise Cl Games In N.or S. America?

That should be it, except possibly in Brazil.

ESPN International generally owns the TV rights anywhere outside of Europe, where the individual FAs work with UEFA to sell the rights. The overseas rights are done by region. ESPN buys them to give their channels in South America and Oceania a reason to exist, seeing as NewsCorp channels carry the English Premier League just about everywhere. Almost all other domestic soccer leagues pale in comparison to the EPL.

    question:
I see that ESPN2 will televize Roma-Real next Wed...is roma still punished? will there be no fans? that's gonna look funny on TV and I'm planning on taping it if they go with it...

RFO has lost the CL rights for a long time, at least for a few years.

RDS in Canada has the rights in French. RDS is the French version of TSN.

In the U.S., there are at least two ethnic channels that sub-license games of teams in their countries:

TeleAntenna for Greek teams, which is a PPV venture.
DFH for Turkish teams, which is a Ku-band satellite service.

And ESPN Latin America also sub-licenses games to the local carriers. Meridiano TV, a full-time sports channel in Venezuela, used to carry the CL. Don't know whether they still carry it this season...

ESPN Brasil shows some games live (whatever game is carried by ESPN in the Pac Rim?) and maybe in tape delay. A few years ago, the public channel in Brazil (a channel like PBS in US) sublicensed some games to show in tape-delay during prime time, but that deal didn't last for more than a season.

I might add here that no one really gives a crap about EPL in Brazil, AFAIK, while La Liga is fairly big for a foreign league and you can see why with the Ronaldos and such.

I've become so frustrated with ESPN's CL coverage in the last years - but the uefa.com/Real Networks web coverage is pretty o.k. - around 4pm PST you can watch the entire match on your computer, if you have DSL/cable and a $39 annual subscription (which is better than paying $15 - 20 every time you go to a local bar that has ESPN Americas or ESPN Deportes).

Once ESPN Deportes is more widely available (DishTV: please listen!), things will be better here!

I went so a spanish bar with my friends and they were playing last weeks Real Madrid CL game live while no other carrier had it here in the states. The logo on the side was TVC Deportes but when I went to Lyng Sat to check out the logo none of them matched the same description. I know its possible to get TSN and TLN here in the states but this channel seemed to have more soccer coverage worth watching than most of the other sports channels here.
