Miscellaneous News: 2011-2012 Figured we needed a place for things that don't need their own thread. Kolo Toure accepts his six weeks wage fine for the drugs ban. Club Statement Tevez will not appeal his fine of 2 weeks wages from the Bayern Munich Incident. BBC

Re: Miscellaneous News: 2011-2012 Does seem as he's either lost the will to play, or just lost the will to play for us. Not motivated at all to train or play hard.
Re: Miscellaneous News: 2011-2012 I find it hard to believe anyone would take his baggage on in January.
Re: Miscellaneous News: 2011-2012 PFA Chief who defended Tevez a few weeks ago isn't so happy with him now.
Re: Miscellaneous News: 2011-2012 I think the last 2 seasons he was really just playing to either stay or get back onto his NT for WC and Copa America respectively. Now that it's pretty much a lost possibility for the next WC, he might just walk away from the sport at this point. It seems strange to retire at your peak but nothing he does surprises me anymore. Besides, he's already won it all at club level so I'd agree that the hunger is likely gone. He doesn't have the discipline in his fitness to be like a Seedorf or Giggs.

Re: Miscellaneous News: 2011-2012 Well we did our highest spending in that period but our actual revenue is really good considering the stage of our progress and makes us I think one of the top 10 clubs in the world for actual revenue. I'd expect that loss to halve if not more in the next year because: 1. Less spent on players. 2. The Etihad sponsorship coming into play. 3. More players sold with Tevez, Adebayor, and some others likely to go also soon. At the same time wage reduction. 4. Champions League revenue which is huge compared to Europa League revenue in the last year. 5. Premier League matchday revenue likely to increase also, we've sold out every league game this season with Norwich, Newcastle, and Arsenal all selling out 3-4 weeks in advance recently. 6. Brand growth meaning more international fans and more merchandise sales will mean off-pitch revenue will increase also. There was a financial expert on Sky Sports News here before. Being a Murdock enterprise which means a constant United love-in (Sky own 33% of MUTV), the host did not get what he was digging for as the expert said our accelerated spending is similar to what Chelsea's was but that our setup is much more impressive and believes in financial terms we could become the #2 or even #1 team in the country at some point. Stadium expansion plans will also accelerate soon as the demand is huge and we would fill a 55,000 seater for at least 70% of league games now I believe. I expect the stadium to be pushed to around 60,000 with the North and South Stands having an extra tier added in the coming years which will massively boost matchday revenue.
Re: Miscellaneous News: 2011-2012 Without the Champions League our revenue was £10m behind spurs last year, who made close to £40m in revenue from the CL. If we go far in all 3 cups we should make up some money. This year we sold some players and moved them off our books (Bellamy, SWP, Boateng) with more to come. The rapid nature of the rebuilding project meant that we didn't have players to sell. It has been very apparent that the idea that buying players who are 20-25 years or 15-20 years old. Future and players who have a long life and if need be could be moved on, which is stark contrast to Hughes who wanted to buy only established older players (Bellamy, Bridge, Kolo, Given) whose value would decrease.
Re: Miscellaneous News: 2011-2012 Manchester City are set to agree a new £200million kit deal with Umbro at the end of the season. The club are currently three years into a ten-year, £6m-a-season contract, but the deal allows the terms to be reviewed based on City’s progress. And the new tie-up with Umbro could see their annual payment rocket to £26m. More: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/221671/Manchester-City-to-bank-200m-kit-cash/

Re: Miscellaneous News: 2011-2012 Right up there with "not in my lifetime", the famous Ferguscum comment about whether his team will ever feel the full force of City. These rags cannot stop talking about us and all it will do is drive the players on more. Mancini should plaster comments like these on to the dressing room wall in those "motivational posters".

Discuss any relevant team news, stats, information, or anything thats on your mind, team related of course.
I can only pray that Dzeko gets a half hour against Sunderland. He has been gone for a while and needs to score goals again. Assisting is not enough for him to be part of the XI so I really hope he scores a goal
