cienciano is using that win to basically inore rules that are in place to try and get the 3rd spot for la libertadores this is what i do not like about the situation
all I'm saying is that this cup is basically for the 'other' clubs that couldn't make it to the Libertadores, ex:San Lorenzo didn't even participate in the last Libertadores and also got beat pretty well vs Olimpia in the Recopa. San Lorenzo other then last year's Copa Sud. and their league cup a year ago is a good team within the tournament but has not claimed the true sports club cup--'La Libertadores' like the true Argentinian traditonal superpowers have of Boca, River, Indep., Racing, Velez. as for the European reference, it's all fine and dandy for us Latin Americans to say ' WTF" Europeans think..."but in world club football (which is what we're talking about), it is important that they acknowledge our players and clubs. Money rules in this sport and like it or not that's the way it's gonna be. This cup was introduced to promote more clubs 'internationally' in the likelihood that some club would have interest in buying these players.

at the end of the day cienciano had a shocking preseason and they didnt deserve to be in la libertadores for the simple fact that they wernt 3rd overall on the table alianza atletico and sport boys deserved la libertadores more but la federacion gave cienciano a bogus lifeline
