Wahoo, one of our players snags a league award!

This is only the second time a Rapids player has won an league award (2000, Balboa, Goal of the Year).

If Chung doesn't get named to the Best XI -- which would be the first appearance of a Rapids player ever in that lineup -- it'll be a real crime.

    Kudos, Chungy!

Spenny was named to the best 11 last year, but I will second the notion that Chung definitely deserves that same honor this year!

Oh, duh. I forgot that they snuck him in as a "midfielder" into the Best XI last year.

Good job Chung! I believe this is the second or third time he's won this award. It's time for the MVP for him.

Ruiz shouldn't get it because he was served the entire season, although he worked for a few. His number is up for next season as everyone has seen his show. Twellman too got service from Ralston. Interesting how both other guys are forwards and the midfielder who works his arse off, scores goals, makes assists is possibly playing second fiddle to the two clowns up top?

It just wouldn't be right if Chung doesn't get the MVP.

I've always been torn over Chung and his lack of yellow cards. One one hand you could say he is a clean, fair player who doesn't cost his team dearly by getting ejected. On the other hand, one could say maybe he doesn't push himself far enough in those desperate situations to help win the game. I like him alot, but I've never played more than 2 games without getting a yellow and I look at him as a bit strange. 1 yellow in the past 7 years? Izn't dat VIERD? ;)

Not a personal shot at you seraph, but I think Chung plays physically enough to really help the team win. In fact by avoiding those cards he doesn't get emotionally bent out of shape with the refs so he keeps his cool. He is damn good.

Mark Chung had a fabulous year, it's only fitting that he be recognized with a few individual awards.
    Congratulations Wang-er!!

Actually, I would think the fact that he tends to keep his cool should serve as an abject lesson to other MLS players (yes Pablo, I'm looking at YOU!).

Like I said before "he is a clean, fair player who doesn't cost his team dearly by getting ejected." And I agree that he is damn good. I'm just sayin he is weird. :)

I was really surprized that we handled your team as well as we did. You have the most talented midfield in the league, a better than average defense (what happened to Stewart? I was sure he would get Rookie of the Year til he got benched), and good forwards. Eh, that's life. I'm happy we took you out in 2 for an extra long break, but I was very surprized.

Better luck next year, just not against the Galaxy. ;)

Pretty good acceptance speech of his award at the Gala; Rob Stone and Dir were ribbing him for not getting off stage quickly enough!
