    Not yet confirmed on the club's site, but it looks like Chuck is poised to join Josh Wicks and Joe Funicello at Thor Akureyi.

    translation;

    "Thor have signed the 26 year old striker Chukwudi Chijindu, who was born in Nigeria but has American citizenship."

    Although I believe Chijindu was born in California to Nigerian parents.

    The Icelandic 1. Delid season ended last weekend and Thór Akureyi won the league and promotion to the top flight.

    Chijindu scored 5 goals in 9 league games (7 starts) and was red carded once.

    What kind of money do these teams in Iceland pay?

    Actually, all I could find was that average total daily attendance was 13k for 6 games. Which apparently is very impressive for a country of only 300k. So you do the math.

    The Mirror reports that USA U21 captain Charles Chijkwindu will be go to Iceland KSI as a makeweight in Aron Johannson's transfer to the USMNT, however US Soccer will pay part of his salary, and Senegal will get part of any future sell-on fee.

    He scored in Thor's season finale for his 10th goal of the year.

    Today he was voted by the fans as the team's best player on the year

    I wonder if he can parlay this success into a move to higher level of competition within Europe? Another Scandinavian league perhaps?
