Hope they'll be playing with 5 at the back - or maybe with two keepers in net....

Chrono was much more effective as a left-sided midfielder than at left back when he was with the Revs. Too bad OZ was too stupid to recognize this. He should do fine in the A-League.

Chrono was okay 5 years ago. He is nothing but a stinking pile of dog ************ as a soccer player nowadays. The only thing OZ did with him that was stupid was play him at all.

Chrono was one of the nicest people on the team to get to know though.

If you consider the fact Chungy is no longer on the team, yes.

Ted gets to play in Blackbaud -- a real stadium, with real glass, and a fine pub where fans can gather. It even looked good in the rain in the women's match yesterday -- no puddles, good drainage, nice view of the city and street lights just outside the grounds.

He could do worse than play for the Battery.

Charleston is not such a bad team. In 99' they beat DC United 4-3 in the US Open Cup, and last year they won their conference. They also have an expandable soccer specific stadium with 120x75 grass field. I would like to see this team come into the MLS along with Rochester who is getting a new stadium.

They don't even fill their 5,000-seat stadium regularly and you want them in MLS?

That real glass would be in the pub, of course.
Real GRASS on the field being another major benefit of Blackbaud.

The pub offers some choice brews to go into all that 'real glass'; the initial post was not so much a typo as a Freudian slip. That would be Stanley Freud, late, lamented bar-keep and dispenser of worldly advice.

    But that's another story.

Alas, ElJefe is correct. People (outside Charleston) frequently mention the Battery's name when talking about future MLS expansion teams. It just ain't never gonna happen. And we're OK with that. We're a nice little city, with a nice little team in a nice little stadium with a nice little owner with very deep pockets. I can honestly say (and this is no slam on MLS), that I have never, ever heard a Battery fan bring up the possibilty of moving to MLS. We're perfect for the 2nd division and we're very happy with our lot in life.

And by the way, I didn't mean that as a slam at Charleston or Blackbaud. It's a great stadium, even if it only holds 5,000.

Every MLS stadium needs a place like the Three Lions Pub. [IMG]

Nah, you guys could be the first "cult" team in MLS. Up the attendance to 10k...add the extra 5k to one side (the side cameras do not face)...get golf trip companies to add tickets to their packages...The possibilities are endless...Teams that draw 4 and 5k are nothing new in MLS...Just do what the others do, add 5k "tickets out" and you average 9,000.

    Geez, I'm a fan already!

Maybe if a certain high profile sports writer would maybe take a certain person up on their bribes (golf packages, beers, seafood, fishing, sunshine, etc.), and visit our nice little town and write a nice little article on our nice little stadium, maybe we could get that ball rolling.........
