Swedish football website fotbolltransfers.com report that they have picked up from Twitter that american midfielder Christopher Saul have signed with swedish club Umeå FC. They play in Superettan (swedens second tier) where they are currently in last place but still with at least some hope of avoiding relegation. This seems to be Sauls college profile.
Well, this might turn into one of the shortest threads on here The Umeå director of sports denies signing Saul. Here's his comment: "I saw the news, but I have no idea where it came from. It's not correct. We're happy with our squad and it has been finalized."
If you're looking for an American who played in Sweden who wants to start a lower-division pro club in Maryland, you had, perhaps, at least consider calling Chris Saul. There is probably a shorter way to say that. The American Soccer League announced earlier this month that Saul's club, IFK Maryland, will be part of the professional circuit's expansion to 16 teams next spring. The Maryland team will compete on a second- or third-division level with a collection of squads that spans from Florida to New England. http://www.capitalgazette.com/sports/pro_sports/ph-ac-cs-jackson-ifk-soccer-20151021-column.html
