Is Pulisic still out nursing an injury?

He's not "out" mostly but he is nursing a bit of an injury.
He is also receiving a LOT of attention by the other teams when he plays as no team wants to be the one he gets his touch back against.

I kind of expect that he may be rested for a match or two but I believe he will be on the bench and play 20-30 minutes in any match he does start on the bench.

Milan does not want to lose him from overuse and he has played a full 90 for three matches in a row and then missed a match totally and has not been effective since that three match stint. It would not surprise me if he was not rostered for Milan's match Sunday.

Sounds like when he plays for the USA against every Concacaf team that assaults him every time he gets on the ball.

Yep, thanks. The post is fine, but for the fact that it's a step away from talking about CP and towards something else. I'm going to delete yours and the one you replied to, just to close off the exit ramp.

Well Pulisic did not start but he came in somewhere around the 60 minute mark. The match was tied at the time or it was tied shortly there after after Milan had, against the run of play, taken a lead early in the second half. The reason I do not know exactly when he came in was that I got a phone call from my cousin in Alaska wanting to complain about the snow they have been getting. I told her about how badly the NWS missed the southern edge of the latest storm here as I, in middle SE Tenn, got only a dusting and no ice after a prediction of 4-8 inches of snow and 3/4 of an inch of ice here. But that is not germane to this thread.
Puisic did not look either good or bad but he did move pretty well, I do not think that when he came in and the way Roma was playing is at all suited to his play even when healthy. I can make no judgements about his play or health from the end of the second half I did see but, if I were rating him I would give him a neutral rating as there was virtually nothing to see.
Millan looked like warmed over crap in this match and they were very lucky to steal a draw.

As a further aside. Receiving the call from my cousin really set me off my ability to analyze soccer so I may be way off in what I saw particularly in the second half after Pulisic came in. My cousin very rarely complains about the weather so she must be really down about this winter. She said her normal snow depth at this time would be about 60-70 inches and their next snow would put the years total to date above 120 inches. Of course she lives very far north in Alaska but she is unable, even using their snow cat, to make it to the nearest town. Of course she has plenty of food and local power so she is OK, just very very bored as all but one of her nine kids have moved away so the extended family is very small and the local Indians are all socked in.
Sorry for the digression. Also Alaska is, as my youngest grandniece says, mondo weird. I know she is not really my grandniece as the daughter of my cousin's son should be called "first cousin twice removed" but my cousin and I grew up more as brother and sister than cousins.

As usual, disappears against a quality team.

Our alleged best playerneeds to play like our best player. And not be socializing after a blowout.

I think Pulisic's hips are broken and he will never be the same until and if he has surgery, or perhaps even that won't fix it. I see little hope for a good World Cup from him.

It’s a hip injury? Is that what has affected his form the last few months?

Why you gotta do our boy like that? He's at home! Young, probably single, wealthy, a star. He's got this sore hip that needs lovin' and this adorable Italian accent influence thing going on. Its not like he was caught out at the club making out with Weston's sister, right? (Right!?)

All power to Christian Pulisic, the man who has already proven he is willing to put his manhood on the line for the good of the country during a World Cup. Without him, our chances of winning a World Cup knock out game decisively against a quality team are virtually nil. I expect he'll break his duck before the tournament for country or club, and the goals and plays will come gushing.

Beyond that, WTF bring in a player nursing bursitis, the primary treatment for which is, let's check, rest.
Yes, I know, it was an important friendly that meant absolutely nothing in any possible way, but everyone knows Pulisic at his best and what he can mean. if what stands between him and his best is a bit of rest, why not give him this week? Call him in and don't let him leave the trainer's table if you need him in.
Milan won't want to rest him, because their games matter. These did not. I'm sure he wanted to play, but playing him, training him, was a mistake.

Pulisic and rest, an iconic duo.

I’m not so sure he wanted to play. And while he should have stayed home if that would have helped his fitness, his lack of finishing seems more mental than physical to me. I thought he looked pretty good from a physical standpoint in the game. He was quick and lively in and around the box at times. But he has basically zero final product right now.

It is hip bursitis and I think at this point Pochettino may have to consider leaving Pulisic off the World Cup roster. The current version of Pulisic is unable to do the things that we are used to seeing him do. He needs rest. He will not be effective at the World Cup -- or so it seems on March 29.

Holy smokes… I suspect he’ll be on the team no matter what. But failing to perform at this World Cup would be a failure on multiple levels. It’s got to mean the world to the guy, but we still don’t have a single signature win against a quality team during his tenure as the undisputed most talented player of this generation.

I’d still take a prime age Donovan for his performances in the shirt over Pulisic (ducks, anticipating chairs, rotten tomatoes, and half full beer cans being through in my direction)…

Pulisic is the best US player in history. But pretending he's not hurt and throwing him out there every game does not help the team.

His shooting was poor but I didn’t see the other defects that others saw. He ran some good combinations in attack. I pressed/defended well for him. He seemed active. Maybe a few instances of hero ball but all I really saw to complain about was poor finishing. And that is always such a small N thing that it doesn’t warrant some sort of global judgment IMO.

He said recently he feels fit. I'm sure they do lots of metrics in training. Your comment is based on some weird idea.

Best American but not necessarily best US player. He’s practically on YA Mount Rushmore by himself. On American soccer Mount Rushmore he has company.

Agreed. Donovan & Dempsey are clearly above him.

And I'd put Gonsalves, Reyna, Friedel, Keller, Pope, and Howard above him. Heck, maybe even Bradley, Beasley, Dolo, and McBride.
