All the top players world wide have voiced concerns with the total load on their bodies between club (league, Open, UCL/Europa etc.) and country (friendly and run for the record) ....

    He is not soft.

But he is smart enough to know he only has so many miles/minutes on his body at a top level. Heck Messi has spent most of his time the last 5 years simply walking ... he is no dummie.

So I can clearly see why CP, Jedi and others are wanting to step back and recuperate because next year will be a big burden on their bodies - if CP is still at Milan he will not have UCL or Europa to worry about ...

But I can see the counter argument that the USMNT needs him around with Poch to regain form (right now we just suck) ...

it is what it is ... our top players are resting their bodies and we will also have limited minutes with them gelling prior to the big dance.

You’re giving off some real “posting-from-my-mother‘s-basement” vibes here.

Suddenly people care about the Gold Cup?
Crocker hung him out to dry, which is why we hear idiotic statements like that.

People are being ridiculous. Pulisic has had, and been playing through, injuries this season. And who has cared about the gold cup since the confederations cup went away?

He deserves a rest. His loyalty shouldn't be questioned.

It was reported around Feb he was playing thru injury. Milan manager even commented on it.

    Clint played 4,373 in the 10/11 season off the back of a WC, 4,943 in 11/12, then 5,074 in 12/13 + 13, then 3,929 in 14.

Messi famously did a lot of walking even in his prime.

I believe the manager said he wasn’t 100% and that they needed to manage his minutes. Don’t remember more specifics. I do remember saying that we should let him rest in March, when that rest would be most valuable.

I do remember a concern that Puli was "rushed back" for the Super Coppa, which is weird because it seems like a superfluous competion, played overseas with no UEFA place to be won.

And there's no certainty that he'll be available next summer, so we'd better learn to play without him.

I support this but if he even dresses let alone plays in a meaningless last game of the season this narrative blows up.

When was his last Euro game, Dec./Jan.? Most of his heavy minutes were in 2025.

If midtable Serie A is taxing him to his limit a sooner than expected international retirement might be best.

Milan having shit depth and Leao falling out with the manager hurt their ability to rotate. Pulisic might be a guy who needs to be capped around 3500 total minutes club and country. Going into the WC we may be getting a guy near that limit already. Even with no CL we need to hope Milan find W and AM depth.

Clint was bigger and stronger and could take more hits (and dish them out) than I think Pulisic can. And I just don't think other squads teed off on Deuce like they do on Pulisic (till the ref steps in) .... heck I even question whether Pulisic should play another CONCACAAF match unless it is against Canada or Mexico.

I think it says a lot about you that the statement from US Soccer says "Pulisic's team" and instead of thinking that was Pulisic's decision based on advice from club or medical experts or whatever, you think it's Pulisic whining and having his mom calling in.

Whenever I look in dismay at the state of the world and wonder how we got here, I only need to come onto the internet see how people think and realize it's a shock we ever got this far to begin with.

Dempsey also spent the early part of his career in the less competitive MLS. I'm starting to think that going to Europe too young puts a lot of pressure on players physically that they're not prepared for.

About a hundred replies along the lines of "So Pulisic is to tired to play for the national team but he can play in this meaningless end of season game."

if ac Milan felt he needed rest…. He wouldn’t have started today. His team is his parents he was clear about that in the doc. If it was a request by the club they would make it not his mom.
