Nah. He'll be named to the squad when its announced this week. Then Poch will assess the situation.

If he can play like he did yesterday, he can play in the Nations League in a few weeks. That's two games MAX. And we can bring him off early if we're up on Panama.

Then...................we should give him the summer completely off from the USMNT. No Gold Cup for Pulisic. That should be a given.

[Frankly, I turned that Milan game off when Lecce scored their second goal. I threw the remote aside in disgust. I just didn't see that turnaround coming AT ALL. It didn't look like their day.]

It looks like a disc or sciatica to me, but people can favor a leg for a number of reasons.

Pulisic scored a wonderful goal from a very acute angle early in the 2nd half. Hep played the entire 90+ and had a chance very late for a second but time ran out before he could complete his breakaway.
Musah had a match to forget. He had two really good chances and did not even manage to hit the goal he also had several unforced turnovers. The only part of Musah's game that was pretty good today was his defense but even though he won the ball several times he usually gave it back on his first attempt at passing.
I was also impressed by Pulisic\s defensive work and his hussel late in the game. On one occation he won the ball in his own box made a good pass out to start the break and was one of the four Milan playsers in the box when the break finally broke down.
He also could have had another goal but the ref failed to see/call a pretty clear PK. He would have taken the PK.
Milan did NOT play well but they were good enough to win 2-1.
I get the feeling that the best combo for Milan's starting squad is still not found but they are playing better in the second half nearly every match and if they could play two second halfs in a row they might have a fairly easy match.
I saw a bit of pain on Pulisic's face at the end of the match. He had been fouled VERY hard earlier and that could have been effecting him but it seemed it did not impact his play much.
I think Milan is really hoping that the international break will be easy for the USA so Pulisic can get a bit of rest.
I do not think we will "need" him against Panama but he may have to play the entire 90 in the final, probably against Canada.
He is obviously wanting to play all the time but his coaches need to hold him back a bit just to prevent fatigue injuries.
With a player that wants to play a LOT like Pulisic does it is up to the coaches to keep him a fresh as possible.
I would be tempted to not start him against Panama but, politically, that might be a near impossible decision. If we "need" him against the likes of Panama then we have many more problems than I think we do.

We needed more than Pulisic against Panama at the Copa America.

That was a VERY different situation and we had an incompetent coach.

Not really. No way Pulisic would be rested for this game.

Pulisic seems at his best when the play does not flow through him too often. He seems, when he is always on the ball or in the play to get lost. part of it is something he cannot do anything about and that is his size or lack thereof. Another part is that is on the ball play seems mostly to be at 100% all the time and that makes him mentally tired after much of the match.
However he does have periods of very intense and very productive action. He does not get physically tired much and almost never looks "out of it" during play.

I think his central play suffers some because he just gets knocked around more in the middle and that degrades his play. I "think" Milan has figured that out and is now playing him wide most of the time. While letting others play "pinball" in the middle. In Milan's current system he does come central fairly often but it is generally not when the middle is congested.

Today he had an assist which was basically a bank shot off a Milan defender's head (actually mostly shoulder) and he could have had a goal but an offside player touched the ball negating the goal. He also held his position well and played good defense most of the time.

He still looks just a little off. I cannot tell if it is just how Milan are having him play or if he is still nursing a bit an injury or if he is getting a little shy of some of the contact he gets in Italy. My guess it is a combo of those.

I hope Milan does not over use him as they have in the past.

He’s also just approaching the end of the a long season where he’s played a ton. Following a season last year where he also played a ton. Assuming no injuries, by the time this season is up it will be the two seasons with the most minutes in his career.

Christian Pulisic is not best pleased with AC Milan’s current situation and a summer exit cannot be ruled out.
    https://sempremilan.com/pulisic-not-very-happy-milan-situation

I do not really think that Pulisic is likely to make, or be forced into a move but i can understand his dissatisfaction as everyone on the team and in the coaching staff seems to underperform regularly. But he is very much part of the problem as he does not seem to always perform at his best. I do not know if the problems are at all his fault as it seems everyone often underperforms for Milan and, sometimes, they all underperform at the same time.
Pulisic needs a break where he is trusted for regular play and he gains more consistency. I think he also needs stability and the coaching revolving doors he has seen at every place he has played for the last few years is not helping the stability issue at all.
I would even advocate for a move to MLS if it results in the stability he needs, i think he is mature enough to avoid many of the pitfalls of MLS play. But MLS would be a huge step down in the quality in the quality of play and that would be a negative for him. I also feel that a move back to the Premier league is possible but I do not think that move would be good for him either.

I am not sure that Milan is good for him at this time as they do not seem to play really well during adversity and all teams have periods of adversity. Maybe another Italian team might be better but the price tag would be HIGH and i am not sure there is a team in Italy that would be willing to pa what Milan asks.

If he moves on i hope he gets stability for the next several years as that is what is mostly lacking in his playing history.

But I really do not expect a move this summer as his price is just too high for a transfer at this time.

I think he stays and I hope he stays. Wouldn’t be the worst thing to play once a week the season before a home World Cup.

We need him healthy for the WC, he’s our best player by a mile. Less wear and tear may increase the possibility he’s healthy and not on empty next summer. This is the smartest move.

taking the summer off isn't going to change where he is when it comes to his health next summer.

he is trying to angle a move to play in the champions league next year so a move from milan is very possible. then what? he'll be tired from all the additional matches next season anyway.

he is just a guy I would love to know what his level of commitment really is to the game and his fitness. that 'documentary' he did made him look pretty immature for his age, his parents always around helping him like he is a child. maybe more rest and focusing on soccer and less golf with the gf wouldn't hurt him either especially if he has a bad hip haha.

At this rate I wonder if he’ll ever play in a Gold Cup again.

Given the way Central American countries play against the USA, Pulisic is most likely doing everything he can to avoid any injuries from their extremely dirty play. He did not sign up to play Rugby Union after all.

The referees allow those teams to assault him for 90 minutes without any fouls or cards.

I have never seen him loaf it in a USA shirt. I have seen him play hero ball though.

Whenever he comes to MLS (which I predict will be post 2030 World Cup). So 2031?

Assuming a 32 year old Pulisic holds up.
