Is it possible to organize a petition to have Christian Pulisic to the next Copa America ? I think that if we wait that stupid of Klinsmann, we will have another Donovan's situation......

I hope he's in the Olympics this summer. If we don't beat Colombia, maybe. I still don't think he belongs in our 23. With that said, I don't know if Jurgen is even going to call in an A squad this summer. If he's bringing in fringe and old MLSers than he might as well call Pulisic

I think Pulisic will be our starting left or right wing.

FJ on the left, Pulisic on the right. Wood and JMOsmooth as the forwards. Call in Benny as the 10 (like that would ever happen) and we would be in business offensively.

Eh, that's one of those great hypothetical lineups that I'm not sure sure would pan out in an actual meaningful game.

The kid starts his first game and we've already decided he is a part of our best 23? I think he has a ton of potential and could possibly be one our greatest players ever, but aren't we getting a little ahead of ourselves?

He has played like 4 of Dortmund's last 5 league games, and didn't really look out of place. Forget that there aren't 23 players in the U.S. pool at a Dortmund level club or better getting time. I do hate that small-minded criteria for determining call-ups that some use. However, lemme ask you - do we have 23 players in our pool who could play several games for Dortmund and not look out of place in that period? And if we don't, doesn't he deserve the benefit of the doubt until his club play doesn't translate to international? Thankfully, Dortmund has something like 15-20 games left in the season, and ourselves have a few friendlies before the Copa. So we'll have plenty of info before then. No reason to think of projecting to include him as unreasonable, or even unlikely, then. Christian Eriksen was in a very similar position before he got called up by Denmark for a major comp, only he played for Ajax instead of Dortmund, that was the World Cup instead of Centenario, and he started some games I believe.

I watched the entire game against Leverkusen. He utterly nonexistent until the 45 minute when he nearly had an assists but the shot was shanked. But it was literally 45 minutes of the game passing him by and him being virtually invisible. He just couldn't get into the game. He was subbed at half time.

He's got potential, one for the future and all and so far so good. I'm just not going to go overboard. especially when his first start he's yanked at halftime.

Well, shit. He didn't pick up the ball in his own box beat 11 men and slot it home.

Shut it down. Nothing more to see here.

Given no one else in our player pool aside from Fabian could get a start for Dortmund, no. Guys like Zardes/Finlay are so far off the Dortmund standard that you questioning him being a top 23 player literally makes no sense. Those two would never seen the bench, never mind a contract.

But the more I think about it and that he's 17, I'd prefer him not being called in for the U23's next month nor for the NT next month or for Copa America.

Let him concentrate on Dortmund and then get a full preseason with them. If he does well he'll be getting regular Bund/UCL mins come late summer/early fall. Then bring him in. It's not about does he have the quality to play in the full NT, he does. It's more about being realistic about putting too much on the plate of a 17 yr old and allowing him to focus on becoming a regular for a top 10 club in the world. I kind of like that he's out of the spotlight here for now and is just plowing ahead with BVB.

So you want his place at Borussia Dortmund jeopardized?

Why can't it be both? He might be best 23, and it also might be a good idea to hold off on including him in the 23.

He'd be gone from the end of July to the end of August, important preseason games and first few games of the season. He doesn't have a safe enough spot in the Dortmund squad to miss that time.

He wouldn't be new to the team at the point and he'd still largely be there for the offseason. A month would mean would mean very little while he'd gain extremely valuable international experience.

Tuchel loves him and is giving him every opportunity right now. if he is going to be going back down then it won't be because he missed a little preseason action. I still don't think he should be on either roster though. There is a long two years until 2018. There will be matches for him at the senior level next summer or even at the beginning of 2018 to get him ready for the world cup so why the rush? He isn't going to play for Croatia. Let the kid be.

This is too short sighted.. Experience at the Copa America will make everyone at Dortmund happy. Here they have a 17 year old getting playing time for his national team at the Copa America.. Trust me the club would love that and not hold it against him in any way.

The kid is not ready. We don't need to rush him into the line up so quickly.

    Yes. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of ourselves.

Could Klinsmann name him to the Copa America team? Maybe.

Keep in mind that if we qualify for the Olympics by beating Colombia next month, he'd probably be at the Olympics instead.

He's getting play-time with a top 10 club team at an attacking position. Under what justification would such a player NOT be in our 23? Aside from his age.
