When you are in striking distance of the title? Fanbases will tolerate it. I think basically since February it was becoming more and more obvious that some tactical changes were needed that just didn't come. Like I'm not gonna defend RedBird fully as an ownership, but it's not like they haven't given any of their coaches funds in the transfer market. There have just been bad decisions made on who to go after.
The word "striking' is doing a lot of work in that sentence, considering Inter are 16 points ahead at the top of the table. But nonetheless, I get what you are saying. You are spot on about the tactical changes that could have and should have been used. I do think there is blame to be shared at all levels of the club, not just Allegri, but his recent approach has been confounding. Someone pointed out awhile ago that the club could have just left Pioli in charge before they started their manager carousel, and would have been in the same position or better and man, that is kind of hard to argue with right now.
In March Milan was 5 points off first. Striking was meant at one point Milan could have made it interesting. Then the wins became losses and draws.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly told Christian Pulisic, Rafael Leao, and three stars they are out of Allegri’s AC Milan plans
Seeing as how Pulisic refused to sign an extension when he was a hot commodity and an offer was reportedly on the table, I sense he and his camp are probably saying "you can't fire me, I already quit." But if true, it may be best for both the club and the players all listed if they go their separate ways. Not surprised at all about RLC and Tomori. And not really surprised at Rafa. It has been pretty clear this season that both player and club need to move on from one another, as talented as he can be. I really wanted CP to win a title in the MIlan colors, I respect the history of the club so much. But if Allegri is staying, I will not miss watching matches every weekend like I have been.
Why do AC Milan’s owners give Zlatan so much power? Does Zlatan bring in $$$ millions in sponsorship, merchandise, tv rights? Does Zlatan have personal relationships with current global superstars like Mbappe, Haaland, Yamal - where Zlatan can convince them to play for Milan in the next 1-3 years? If Zlatan doesn’t bring tangible benefits to Milan, then why do the owners give him so much power?
Would you believe … Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly told Christian Pulisic, Rafael Leao, and two stars they are out of Allegri’s AC Milan plans?
For the last several years CP and Leao have been Milan's two best attacking players (that's not debatable, is it?). In that time, Milan have failed repeatedly to find support pieces that could help those two in a meaningful way, all while spending tons of money. What makes them think they're qualified to be able to now successfully replace both of them in a single off season?
There are a lot of rumors in Italy during the summer transfer window.... When all else fails, I have one Italian slang word for you......"Boh"! "Boh" is an informal Italian expression meaning "I don’t know," often used to convey uncertainty, indifference, or a casual lack of opinion. Definition and Usage "Boh" is a versatile interjection in Italian, equivalent to saying “I don’t know,” “Who knows?” or “Meh” in English.
Saranno licenziati prima o poi.... They have to make up stories and articles to sell newspapers. It has always been like this. Anyway, neither Allegri nor Ibrahimovic have a secure position. They will both be fired sooner or later....
Not sure if I’m jinxing it or speaking it into existence, but a Pulisic goal today to help secure Champions League for Milan next season would be a really cool thing, right before the World Cup. And a possible farewell gift for Milan?
A win please. The possible scenarios are ridiculous if everyone at 71 points. Roma will definitely win. So if milan draw and juve win then I think juventus are in because head to head is equal and they have superior goal difference. Lol
Milan went up 1-0 on a Salemakers goal in the first minute. Allegri already sent out a conservative lineup, and when they went up a goal, they became even more conservative. Of course, with their foot off the gas, Cagliari (who is already safe and with nothing to lose) pushed forward and equalized around the 20th minute. That’s the problem with Allegri, he plays not to lose. At least he has Rafa and Pulisic on the bench to bring on shortly after halftime.
Pulisic is getting instructions at halftime, seems pretty evident that he’s coming on. I’ll take this over to the play-by-play thread
Milan lose 2-1, all they needed was a draw to qualify for UCL, but now they are out. An absolutely horrid 5 months for the club, once league leaders, and for Pulsic - who is going into the WC with little confidence and not ideal form. lots of blame to go around for everyone - players, manager, Admin, and yes, even our guy Pulisic. While he may not have been the main culprit today, he was not stellar, and having one of your main attackers go scoreless for 2026 so far is not a recipe for success. Not sure what this result means for him, but hard for him to point fingers at others. Can’t imagine Allegri survives this. I foresee another video of him speeding his car out of town, like we saw when Juve canned him
He does that every time. But yeah, the writing is on the wall. He done, and he knows it. I really want to know what happened around Christmas. It’s like the entire team just quit on the project, and everyone started playing for themselves
