A winning performance with the game winning goal would go very far with fans on both sides of the Atlantic.
It does seem like CP isn't getting enough credit from the pundits for the season he is having. He is now a single goal or assist away from having 30 total goal contributions in just under 3400 minutes across all comps. I really hope he finishes strong by scoring and/or assisting to win Coppa and then it would be fantastic if he could overtake Lukaku for the Serie A lead in assists. CP is one behind w/ two less games played. <fingers-crossed> I have no data to back it up but I would have to guess that no YA has ever led a top 5 Euro league in assists.?.? He is already doing it w/ chances created.
It'll probably never happen, but it would be cool to see him go back to Dortmund for one final season or two right before his inevitable MLS cash-grab down the road. But I am not sure the timing, his goals and salary demands, and BvB's state of play and aspirations would ever line up again. After watching his documentary, I am guessing that in Christian's mind, that chapter of his life is fully closed.
Too bad it's so close to Chester. Would love to see MLS launch the Pulisic-led Hershey Kisses in 2030. Think of the marketing!
That's a really good question. I can't even think of anyone else* who would ever have been in the top 5 in assists in a top 5 league, led alone led a top 5 league. *anyone else except Jedi, this season. I still stand by my claim that we are witnessing right now and at the same time two of the three greatest seasons of all time for YAs.
Jedi certainly deserves huge kudos for what he has done this season.... He has fallen quite a bit behind Salah in the assist category but 10 is still a fantastic number for a LB in the EPL... and he has not been 100% physically all year long. Pair that w/ him earning captain honors quite regularly and his solid play on D and I too think we are looking at two of the best YA seasons ever.
Yes. Jedi’s fall-off in productivity coincided with Iwobi’s really taking off. Opponents had to pick one to remove from the match and they (other than Liverpool!) picked Jedi. I love Jedi, but he’s not as good as CP. Teams game plan for CP and he still beats them. Still, it’s amazing that Jedi is good enough that teams have to game plan for him. That’s amazing also.
Thiago silva signed a brand new extension. He was sold a week later. And that was under Berlusconi.. Cardinale doesn't understand Italian soccer unfortunately for we Milanisti
Christian Pulisic aims for sixth club title AC Milan faces Bologna in the Coppa Italia final in Rome on Wednesday, a chance for Christian Pulisic to win his sixth club trophy. Christian Pulisic club titles: 2025 Supercoppa Italiana (AC Milan) 2022 UEFA Super Cup (Chelsea) 2021 FIFA Club World Cup (Chelsea) 2021 UEFA Champions League (Chelsea) 2017 German Cup (Borussia Dortmund)
It's a long interview that covers many topics. I'm only reading translated excerpts. Basically the gist is that Boban feels like Milan is headed in the wrong direction, and that the problem is in the boardroom, not on the field or at the training grounds. He thinks that Scaroni (current President), "doesn't belong in football", and that while Giorgio Furlani (current CEO) is a "true fan", he's rendered toothless by the bosses above him AND he's too much of a mathematician to chair a football club effectively. He's says he wouldn't return to AC Milan if asked. He think that whoever gets the sporting director position will be "boxed in" and unable to make major sporting changes without convincing RedBird. He says that while he still loves and respects his "football brothers" at the club like Zlatan, he suggests that they should all quit to save face. He also, (somewhat bizarrely) goes to the mat for keeping Bennacer and says that everyone who agrees with the decision to sell him "doesn't know football". I'd argue that Bennacer hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire at Marseilles, but it's always tough to tell with January loans. So, while he's spitting some fire, I don't think he's on-point with all of it.
I think Milan fans need to realize that the glory days are never returning. Inter ironically give me a little hope. Their finances are out of wack, they've spent little on transfers and have gone to 2 of last cl finals. Maybe there is a possibility but no cl soccer next year sets the club back years. Too bad serie a TV deal sucks.
