Tammy hit it well but had zero disguise on his PK take, imo. But, he is 11/13 for career PK's per fbref.

haha, you're right about that - he totally stared at where he was going to put it; maybe trying a psychological trick by making an obvious look towards the bottom left. But it did not work.

His body and run up was shaped hard in that direction which was the biggest tell, imo.

I wonder if that suggests the high pershot xG he's seeing won't last...

    Good data tho.

Funnily, the Athletic isn't the author either. Here's what the Athletic actually said: "But it might be time for the USMNT main man, who is one of the leaders of the national team, to take a more assertive approach with his club team-mates." Not sure how they got to "must" and "high time" from that.

Doesn't it mean better shot selection? As in, he's not taking the low percentage chances as much.

Yes, this is possible. But he's also not taking that many fewer shots vs last season, his average shot distance from goal is increased (highest in his career), and his xG/shot & G-xG (overperformance vs his xG) are both considerably increased... and all these are outliers in comparison to the entire rest of his career. Even his productive previous Milan season.

So... in a small sample size, I'm sure this could mean a lot of things! Will be interesting to see how long it lasts over a larger sample of the full 24-25 season. Time will tell!

Which, ironically, is better than the supposed "average." If a missed PK here or there is the reason you're losing, you're club does not belong at the top of the table. Giving up 2 goals to Florence - plus a breakaway called back for OS among other good chances ACM gave up, is not a recipe for winning. Theo, Tammy, CP - any one of them will make the majority of their PKs - and miss some as well. Milan needs to get their overall act together.

Positive is Pulisic is among the best players in Serie A, and everyone recognizes this.

    Hard to disagree with this.

Several players already disrespected him and ignore his commands.

Either he shows them who's in charge, or they will continue to show him they're in charge. Once you cater to the players, you will never be able to get out of it.

He might need to do the unthinkable and bench or blacklist a few key players to make a statement.

If there was ever a time for positive rah rah, that time is now. There are pages and pages of legitimate criticism in this thread. The point of my post was to convey that after all the lows, we should enjoy the highs.

I suppose of if one wants to dissect his latest goal as shot or pass, that’s fine. It almost ruined the goal for me but it’s on me for coming to a CP thread and being surprised to find such conversation.

This could go south quickly, if it hasn't already. If T^3 gets disciplined they might view CP as the reason, which could get toxic quickly. Hopefully Fonseca can get control of the situation and professionalism can win out.

Well - sorry for almost ruining it for you but it’s weird to me that this conversation would almost ruin it for you. It’s weird to me that it’s a sacred cow to even question the possibility.

Did you see the Jhon goal against BM? He confessed he never saw the goalie - does that ruin it to find out the brilliant intention assigned to him is not accurate?

It wasn’t meant as a criticism of CP, the way he took the chance required buckets of skill. I also don’t think this thread is filled with negatives about him. Pretty much the contrary - he’s having an awesome season.

Fining players seems a little over the top to me, although I’d be really tempted to cancel the loan and strip the captaincy.

Why is losing captaincy worse than a fine? It seems to me he's a lousy captain even before his birthday presents to himself and Tammy.

And a loan player putting himself above the team is a really bad look especially if reports are true that Fonseca said at half time that Pulisic should take the PKs.
