Lautaro Martinez had 27 Goals and 7 Assists for 34 Goal Contributions.

All last season. 0 for this season. Can probably deduct 1 Goal for the SuperCup to make it even with the same competitions that Milan played and its 33.

That's an Opta account, so they're using Opta stats, which is generally what the major European leagues use for their own official stats.

I am going to guess that you are instead using Transfermarkt, which is a bit of an outlier, in that it uses a very generous definition of assists that pretty much no official body uses.

I prefer Italian coach. They know the league and are best tactician imo but I'm biased. Heck, there good misters in serie c!

I think Ibra is a cancer to any club.

Yeah, at least one additional Pulisic would be useful if they could get him at the same cost (or less) as the current one. He's clearly the best RW on the team by a country mile and at least in contention for being the best right winger as well (depending on how Leao is playing that week). So if either original CP or Leao were hurt or needed to be rested, clone CP could come in--and he could play CAM as a sub as well (if not a starter).

If only leao had pulis professionalism.

Surprised we didn't look at chiesa. He's not at his euro 2020 form anymore but he'd be a capable squad player.

It is a very VC move to bring in a guy who was an amazing footballer, and, without a concern for his locker room reputation or management skills think "This is the guy who can take the club to the top! Look at that bicycle kick he scored with!" He's better suited to run a crypto exchange.

    Chukwueze is a non entity.

Of all the shitty decisions this past summer, not offloading him and finding a replacement is something not really mentioned. But either Puli or Rafa miss time and it’s glaring. Never mind regular squad rotation.

I gotta say, I never bought the Chuk will kick CP to the curb BS, but I did think he'd grow into the role more effectively. Not sure what's up there, but he don't add much when he plays.

Specifically, they give an assist to a player fouled for a penalty that is scored by another player.

Lautaro had 4 of those last season, plus another assist that TM gave him for a shot that was scored on a rebound. That takes him down to 29 goal contributions for any legitimate statkeeper.

I'm no Italian aficionado, but Milan play a very unItalian style of play. They just seem tactically dumb.

They should have also unloaded Leao and Theo and reloaded.

    Lol yes he has.

Pulisic has 5 goal contributions this season to get to that 30, so he had 25 last season.

Bailey had 28. 14 goals and 14 assists.

My guess is they tried to unload Leao and found out the market isn't as hot for him as maybe people thought. His lack of workrate isn't exactly a secret.

As for Theo, I think he'd be great with a harder working winger on his side. Pulisic for instance. I think they would work much better together. You can't pair a "luxury left back" with a "luxury left wing" but you might be able to pair the luxury lb with a harder working left wing. Especially if you strengthen the midfield.

between Ibra, Theo, and Leao' .... I think club management needs to figure it out .... or else it will be a long season for ACM.

Exactly. If Leao was as good as Bellingham, Milan would already see 100M+ offers came in for him.

Milan can solve both problems by selling Leao and move Theo into LW, then use that money to buy a good LB that actually is good at defending.

After the transfer market they just had, you think they would have re-invested the money wisely?

I bet it would have been closer to Spurs after they sold Bale than Juve after selling Zidane.

Based on what I've seen with the team and their play, this might be a multi-year project to get them to truly fight for the title. I'm not seeing a cohesive plan from them.

    I'm talking purely market moves.

This team is 3 years from winning the scudetto and 2 years from a CL semi-final.
