There has to be a bit of suspension knock-on for Lazio - there were a lot of cards waved out there.

    Not unexpected.

On the other side Milan fans love his performance and this type of display is making him a fan favorite.

Agree. CP’s game has become so well rounded and he consistently be relied upon to make good decisions with and without the ball.

That’s not to say he’s perfect, but it appears to me he’s raised the floor of his performances to where his worse game at Milan is better than his worse game at previous clubs.

There’s a reason the ref didn’t blow the whistle and Lazio should be ashamed that gamesmanship led to the sending off and then the drama afterwards. Pulisic picking up the yellow later on was part frustration and contribution. I think that our boy is coming of age though.

“Marco Di Bello lost control of the game between AC Milan and Lazio, dishing out three red cards to the latter and eleven yellow cards in total. As such, per various reports, the referee will be on the sidelines for at least a month.”

    …. {His calls/cards were correct, but …}

“In short, he will not be sidelined for the decisions made, but rather for his inability to take charge of the game.”

And people are questioning if he knows Italian. LOL He is perfectly fluent!

EDIT: seems I was late to the punch line on this one

Yeah. I've been mourning his rumored departure since Zlatan came in the word came out that Pioli is on borrowed time. :(

I prefer play not to stop unless the ref decides it but in terms of soccer’s unwritten rules not surprising that ruffled feathers.

The “not stopping till the whistle” part is irrelevant cause Lazio had the ball right on the touchline and could have easily put it out. Would not have been a risky throw-in even if Milan broke the unwritten rules by not throwing it back to the keeper.

    Thought that was already announced?

pioli is doing ok with his team. The talent is very uneven.

This is another unwritten rule I hate. I can understand not contesting a drop ball when the ref halts play…but again…if it’s not serious enough for the ref to stop play…keep playing. If you disagree and are worried about your teammates health…play the ball out….then go win the ********ing ball back when your opponent puts it back in play. Worried about your opponents throw? Then keep playing.

I honestly don't understand, other than that they're Lazio fans. They had the ball, they chose not to play it into touch, and then got mad that the other team played soccer? Am I missing something?

I teach my players to play the whistle and don't expect a call. It's very basic.

This always happens in this scenario.

Attacking team has a player down, they keep playing, lose possession, then every player and fan is furious when the other team keeps playing.

Dumbass Lazio...those cards were avoidable. Play to the whistle and don't violently lash out when tactically fouled. Simple stuff really. Pulisic was the smarter player.

It's just how fans are. The worst part of the "rule" is the team with the injured player very often keeps playing then throws a tantrum when the other side continues to play. It's just become silly.

It should not be, but you've just seen evidence that it is. All sorts of folks who don't like whatever result, be it football or not, are coming out of the woodwork with death, and other threats. This is the real world we live in today. The best we can do is to not be one of them.
