Chelsea's ACTUAL number 10 (Mason Mount) in 2,154 league minutes: 2 assists--both off corners. Last assist was three months ago. Do you really not think Pulisic could be at 5 goals and 2 assists in the league if he played nearly every minute this season and he took nearly every corner kick and free kick?
Definitely curious about whether they sell Abraham this summer. Supposedly he's another one who wants to leave. I think with Giroud likely leaving on a free, Tammy will end up staying unless they think they can actually get Haaland.
I think he would be an interesting fit at Arsenal. Chelsea would never sell or loan him there at this stage in his career, but as an Arsenal fan I do think he could be successful there. He would play a lot of minutes as a winger or even attacking midfielder given how young the squad is. He seems like the type of player that fits Arteta's vision. And he wouldn't be replaced by the next big thing tomorrow because that's just not how the club operates. Plus Arsenal has a fairly sizeable US fanbase. Seems like it would be a good fit. But it's not gonna happen lol.
If he leaves Chelsea, that's probably the right move..take a small step down so he could get much more guaranteed playing time..and than 2 years from now, can move up again into a top Euro teams. A loan move to Everton, Arsenal or Leicester would be a good move....I don't think teams in Italy Germany or Spain would be able to swallow his wages..at least none of the top teams there.
Everton, Arsenal and LCFC are all direct competitors of Chelsea at this point. There's no way one of their young talents gets a loan to them. But I do agree that in an ideal world, if he wanted to develop, and get lots of minutes the right move is probably a small step down, not a move to Bayern, City or PSG like some fantasize about here.
https://worldsoccertalk.com/2018/10...s-dropped-mbappe-plays-role-of-super-sub/amp/ hmmmm .... Did "family issues" (who is CPs manager?) and # 10 he already wore on his back ... make Tuchel decide to make an example of him to establish who is in charge? I think writing is on the wall - Pulisic ain't no Mbappe. Time to get out of there - loan - trade - somehow. I guess if he had done that to CHO (dropped him completely the next match as opposed to starting him) after his second half yanking the British tabloid and sporting media would have ripped Tuchel a new one.
Sadly I don't see Chelsea letting him go to a London rival, but a move to Everton I could see happening. Maybe a long term loan move where Chelsea splits his salary.
But... they're winning. This is not making an "example" of someone - except to the extent TT is giving an example of how his tight game management is getting results. If/when they start to stumble, what he does with CP will be more telling.
sorry but being subbed in with 4 mins left is not a sub - it is killing the clock. he just needs to get out of there. I know - damn hard with the finances. But I just don't see the situation changing. the bright side is he likely will not get injured and can put good $ in the bank. he will just have to restart his career somewhere else in the next 2 years or so.
At this point TT is only changing things if form dips or injury forces his hand. Why should he? You can't argue with the results.
loans don't have to be long term. Even a half season loan where he plays regularly would probably do him a world of good.
The only reason I suggested a long term is I don't see them recouping his transfer fee and the hope would be he could use a longer term to regain form and increase market value. TT doesn't seem to have use for him so might as well off load a portion of his salary and try to recoup some market value. I don't think a short term loan would accomplish much for either party.
I hope he starts soon, 4 pages of he needs to go somewhere else. I do not get why CFC would want to sell or loan him. Top teams cannot go deep into competitions without quality depth. The "frozen out" and "rotting on the bench" stuff is a bit hyperbolic for me. He is for the most part getting some game and it isn't usually time wasting minutes. People are putting "normal people" perspective on an oligarch's cash, and I think that is why it does their head. To Marina it is simply sunk cost and the price of fielding a top team. The next coach may want him and that could happen even if he wins the treble next year. IIRC correctly CP has 3 years left on his contract. It looks like he could super sub for better part of a year and this time next year, have a breakout fifteen game run and CFC could make a tidy sum off him.
Being in the squad, on the bench and getting minutes is being a sub. It's the definition of being a sub. Chelski, against lots of odds, really, looks like it may well hold on to a top 4 slot. What were they, 9th or something at New Years? Of course as CP fans we want him to start every game, but an objective look at the situation suggests he's stuck in that awkward spot of too good to let go, but not currently considered effective enough to start. Hopefully something changes.
They might not want to but players have a way of forcing moves. If things continue like they have, Pulisic might try and force his way out.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are all reportedly interested in Christian Pulisic, who has been linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer.— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) March 10, 2021 The fact that these rumors even exist probably means either Pulisic's camp is not happy about his role or that Chelsea are looking to possibly get rid.
Ye olde Daily Mail... what a bunch of scamps they are! Clearly a bit of clickbait. I honestly can't think of a single example of someone in CP's situation -- 3+ years left, earning 145k a week, yet not producing through the roof -- who successfully forced a move. Who am I forgetting?
Depay signed a four year contract with United in the summer of 2015, xfer fee around $40m, but was sold after 18 months for half that much to Lyon. He went on to become one of the best players in the French league, with a peak value of over $60m. And he went from starter to super-sub to bencher, to the point that in his second season with United he had only played in 4 games, for a total of only 20 minutes, before getting bought. So it's happened before. Thing is, Chelsea must be ready to let him go for a lot less money they paid for him. And Puli has to be ready to take a considerably lower salary.
