Not a good progression from Cappis this season. I've been following this thread fairly consistently (thanks, @BostonRed!) but can't recall reading anything to explain why his minutes have dropped off so much this year.
The simplest answer is that Cappis is not favored by new manager Jesper Sorensen who took over in January. His minutes were somewhat decreasing at the end of the Fall but have since tanked after Sorensen took over.
Well, it must be due to Jesper Sørensen, but what factually happened is that he was a starter in central midfield, but then was moved to left back position, due to their regular LB starter Blas Riveros suffering an injury that kept him out for 2 month, when Riveros returned (in round 11), Cappis suddenly found himself benched in favor of the now former Brøndby captain Josip Radosevic and/or 23-yo New Zealand international Joe Bell, and this is where we are now, with Cappis being 3rd choice in central midfield. Brøndby have btw elected a new Board of Directors, new members are the Real Salt Lake Vice President of Legal & General Counsel Michelle Hyncik, and likewise Real Salt Lake Director of Special Projects Arnold Rijsenburg. Jan Bech Andersen, (Chairman), former owner of Brøndby, now 10% ownership Scott McLachlan, (Vice Chairman), Global Head of Football at Brøndby's US-based owners GFH (Global Football Holdings) Michelle Hyncik, also RSL Vice President of Legal & General Counsel. Arnold Rijenburg, also RSL Director of Special Projects Scott Krase, also founding partner of Harkness Capital Partners Niels Henrik Roth Johannes Michael Ruppert Christopher Johannes Anderson Claus Bjørn Billehøj Christian Barrett Sten Lerche

Expected to leave Brøndby, MLS is a possible destination. Former US youth int'l midfielder Christian Cappis is expected to leave Brøndby this summer, I'm told. He could head to MLS.Cappis, 23, has made 61 apps with Brøndby. MLS clubs had called with preliminary interest in the past, but he wanted to stay in Europe. Pretty much the same happened to Hany Mukhtar when his career came to a "dead end" with less playing time at Brøndby and so did not further a move to a bigger league. I could also mention Mikael Uhre, and the CB's Andreas Maxsø and Sigurd Rosted who also left Brøndby in favor of MLS, when they were getting lesser and lesser playing time, though for different reasons. (with Maxsø too often being injured). They all have/had the quality to become a success somewhere else, if getting to play as a regular starter.
If he somehow feel stuck, going from one loan deal to the next, it's not unusual that young youth internationals try to reignite their career or get a fresh start in Denmark, like it also happened with the German U-21 NT captain Yann Aurel Bisseck who AGF Aarhus signed on a permanent deal from 1.FC Köln a year ago for a $730,000 fee, after he had been on loan deals since 2019, but Inter Milan now are buying from AGF by triggering his €7 million (around $ 7.7 million) release clause, after a highly successful season by him in the Superliga.
It has now been confirmed by Cappis agent, Johan Wins, from the In4sports-group, that he is moving from Brøndby to the Norwegian Champions Molde on a loan deal for the rest of the season with an option to buy. Molde narrowly missed out on the opportunity to play Champions League, but have instead just qualified for the Europa League group stage.
Cappis started off well with Brndby even though the club has been struggling.....then kinda got lost in the shuffle. It's good for him to try a new club and see how it goes, imo
Not a bad move. It could be debated if it’s a lateral move or a step up (based on recent seasons) in terms of clubs. It’s maybe a slight downgrade in league but…. There seems to be a tiny resurgence of sorts with Norwegian clubs like Molde and Bodø/Glimt having very degrees of “success” in Europe the last couple of years. Hopefully, Cappis can hit the ground running. interesting… he’ll be one only two players in the squad that’s not Norwegian. They other dude is Danish. At least they have Denmark in common…
There are 30 or so Danish players playing in the Norwegian league and 24 in the Swedish league (could be more, or less, the transfer window is not over yet)
I have been told by my Norwegian connection that they have signed Cappis as the replacement for the Norwegian U-21 international Sivert Mannsverk who they have sold to to Ajax for €6 million,
Molde are in Europe this year, right? Edit: yes, Europa League Group H: Leverkusen (GER), Qarabağ (AZE), Molde (NOR), Häcken (SWE)
2023–24 UEFA Europa League group stage, draw : Group H Bayer Leverkusen Qarabağ FK (Azerbaijan Champions) Molde FK (Norwegian Champions) BK Häcken (Swedish Champions)
