Nope. They want top quality CBs and RBs/LBs on their back line. Doesn't matter where they come from. If an Ami proves good enough, it'll be a bit more of a surprisemore than, say Hungarian. But a welcome one.

Being American gives you a few more hoops to jump through and an initial barrier of scepticism to overcome. That's it.

Richards is going to be a stud. Seems like we are a year or two away from having an infusion of young talent and Richards one that is leading the list.

In my opinion, Richards and Dest were the two best players in the U20WC team.

Richards was the best, Pomykal was better than Dest.

In that tourney... but Dest is playing at a pretty high level with AJAX now. He is a no-brainer starter for the USMNT while Paxton still needs to earn a spot in the lineup... but I am expecting big things from Paxton this season. He plays a more attacking role so I want to see his goal/assist numbers go way up. He also needs to stay healthy. We really do have quite a few bright prospects on the cusp across the leagues... It is my hope that a year from now we have roughly twice as many starting for their respective teams in top-flight Euro.... although it may take a bit longer than that.

I didn't mean that Pomykal or Richards are better players, just they were better in that time at that tournament. Now Dest is way ahead.

I would agree Pax had a better WC than Dest. Without Pax, the team didn't look as good.

Glad you agree. Dest, CP and Adams are the top talent right now... and that is already a young core of star players.

Staying healthy is his biggest task but if FC Dallas really acquires Jara his assists will go way up as others there have trouble finishing good passes.

This is Bayern II first season in 3.Liga which is quite the jump since its professional football. This season was always going to be hard and their place in the standing shows that (15/20).

We know Richards is a CB and therefore not the best going forward and the team has leaked in goals because the overall quality is not there. Richards is getting used to this level and not playing his main position.

Brazzo, Bayern's Sporting Director has already started reshuffling the deck of the 2nd team. Sold some midfielders, brought in a striker on loan from Ajax. There will be changes.

I said at the start the goal was to stay up and it looks like they can do it. They will have to figure out who stays and who goes and reload for next season.

I still think its to early and harsh to say Richards won't make it. This is the highest level he has played at and it is a great experience to do it with a club like Bayern. The thing to watch will be next season. Can he continue to grow?

the Ajax player isn't a CF, he's mainly a 10 who can play all attacking positions. And no one who left was even relevant player and that includes T.Tillman. Brazzo didn't sell anyone, all players left nor did he bring anyone new beyond 1 player. They were mostly a RB, CB and 2 wingers who left, no midfielders.

fact is NO player will want to play II/3rd Liga for too long. In the end, every season you will have to make a somewhat new squad.

that article also states that Bayern II did very well vs top of the table teams but bombed vs the lower end teams. That's something to take into consideration. The 1st half of the season was something new for a lot of the players, as in pro level, they had to get used to and used to the intensity. The team has to get used to playing together.

II teams= only allowed 3 over 23 players in matchday squads, basically "kids" playing adult. I tend to see way too many people who put down 3rd Liga because 3rd division. Ignoring that 3rd Liga is filled with players with 1BL, 2BL, Eredivisie, Swiss 1st division, Austrian Bundesliga, etc experience. It's not players who are 3rd Liga-OL experienced only. You find lots of variety.

that 3-0 win had like average age of 20.8 years, lol, youngest in pro German football and included 4 U19 eligible players.

the real weakness to me in 1st half of the season
    1-was lack of concentration/stamina for 90
    2-iffy midfield
    3-playing any CB at fullback
    4-more tactically sound

over the weekend, it looked good because all 4 were done well. Concentration for the full 90, the introduction of 01-Stiller in midfield who was fantastic in his 1st 3rd Liga XI and seems likely he could be permanent upping. And then Yilmaz at RB and Kohn at LB, much more effective than any CB playing there.

as for Richards, what was written is pretty accurate so far from this season. Not something people want to hear.
"but his facilities are too limited."
"Too many basic things are missing, especially in the position game and in understanding the game."

I tend to even think his defensive needs lot more work. He tends to just put his hands on players, basically lots of manhandling. He tends to be casual too often in terms of running and anticipation. I find in vast majority of games he seems to have no stamina whatsoever, like around 60+, he's usually looks close to done. It's why his muscle injury wasn't surprising and he was playing cb.

he's also a very bad option for RB. It really feels like Bayern wants to play him but others are in CB so they played him at RB. But he's been so far very bad at fullback and so-so to solid at CB.

the article wasn't talking about him not making it as a pro but making it at Bayern 1st team. That's where they have massive doubts and he did himself 0 favors in that 1st team friendly vs FCN. Where he barely barely did anything right and was easily one of the worst players out there. And he was playing RB but what he does at RB could be passable at best in 3rd Liga will not be good vs 2BL clubs.

of course he's a cb not fullback. But even then the competition for cbs also exists even vs players in youth levels. Flick took at 03 CB to Winter camp who plays vs older players in U19, aka underage. He actually talked about him in press conference pre-Schalke game and seemed to hint that he could lean on him even when Hernandez is fit and Odriozola arrival and talking about how he doesn't necessarily believe that you have to be 17 to play 1BL....

reality is that club like Bayern even if they start to integrate for real, you can't integrate too much in same positions, not in slightest realistic.
