Some video captures from the Barca-Real Madrid match at the Camp Nou on Saturday, as the Barcelona players came out onto the pitch:

    One side:

    At one end:

Showing that end, and part of the side:

Never did get to see what they were doing on the side from which most of these were taken.

    Something to aspire to!

I wonder how to get people to lift rolls and not crumple and shake them around making them look smaller than they are hehe

    Let me be naive...

That can't be all the work of the supporter group alone can it? The team officials and others got to be (or were) involved right...?

    BBBulldog,

I saw a few weeks ago that you made a thread on making flags. IMO, this is something that BB/SE (an all MLS supporters groups) should focus on. Flags are great because they're not dangerous, they're reusable, and you can wave them during any part of the game. You seemed to have some good ideas for a "flagpole" too.

BTW...good work on the choreo for the playoffs...I was one of the "white squares" for the choreo in the conference final.

its mainly the work of the group leaders. they get a design together, figure out details. raise funds etc..
they will lay out the design in an open area and then go down in lines and pick up the cards.
day of the match the volunteers will go in and arrange the design on the seats. putting the cards on each seat in the ordder they picked them up. then step back and making sure everything is okay.

i agree with this 100%.they arent too hard to make either and everyone could make one. in the 2003 season i had a small flag i made for the playoffs some might remember it. it was red and black checkered with a cardboard pole taken from wrapping paper rolls. (its pretty stiff). although after we scored i broke the cardboard by accident and the pole was sort of ruined.

Depends what you mean by help, they have access to stadium to set it up (like we did), they probably have access to stadium broadcast to coordinate everyone lifting on something that big (or use loudspeakers like in Croatia). At away games you do smaller ones so usually no need to set up too much. I'm sure some of the groups get financial help but most gather their choreo money through dues, donations and merchandise. Most ultras groups really avoid getting any financial help from team as a rule of thumb.

Antena flagpoles is all Vlad's idea, I just copied him and then made a thread :) I wish we could negotiate normal flagpoles tho (3.5 foot pole for 3 foot flag would work, don't need anything bigger as long as people sit behind us), I allways break my antenas but security is scared of it... which is not suprising since they're generally clueless :) 30-40 flags once every several games would be pretty neat.

I'm thinking of some things for next year tho :)

It's also easy to map out as it's generally done before game starts. If I left paper cards on Barra chairs till 30th minute ones that weren't made into conffetti/airplanes or smushed up would be soaked in beer heheh

yeah thats why they do it right at the beginning of the match during player introductions

but barra and the eagles normally arent in the stadium until a few minutes in. :p

Eagles are, Barra isn't. Maybe if they opened lot 8 earlier so people have more time to drink hehe

With some help placing cards, begining of second half might work (after I pay CSC to break up drum circle early :D )

I'm thinking that would just allow everyone to get more drunk...and therefore, get into the stadium even later. :) :D :)

But you know, it's a pain to see around flags. If they're only waved during the goals, fine but during the whole game gets old real fast.

Maybe we could create or pick a "flag" song that coule be sung for a few minutes at a time and be the cue for everyone to wave the flags for a short time.

If people could wave a flag for 90 minutes they could also jump or twirl scarves or sing for that long which doesn't happen so no need to worry about it :) It worked fine last few games, besides these are small 3x5 flags. One I had in Croatia as a kid was around 12x12 feet I could basically wave it like 3 minutes before I was dead and someone else had to take over :D
